Evidence of right to file ( green card ) evidence of petition able relationship ( birth certificate ) and all the normal forms listed in the I130 guides. The wait till be a few years most likely depending on your brothers age

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Is his Mother OK with this?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Your name sir will need to be listed on his birth cert

and the mom or legal guardian signs allowing the

child to migrate to U...at age 11 as long as all paper-work

is ok it may not be too long a wait as if he was over 18

I say start the process asap,, make sure U have original copy of BC

Hi,

When your LPR father files the I-130 for your brother, it will take 2-3 years for your brother to be eligible for a visa in the F2a category.

"Emotional evidence" is not requested, so don't send it. It does no good. It actually could create problems. Do what is requested only. Do send useless stuff.

Best of luck.

No need to take like that tone, OP knows what I mean

In Jamaica if the fathers name is not on BC (many aren't) it later

becomes a problem & that's factual

Yes it does, whens the last time U petition a kid, they ask for DNA to prove U are the

father if your name was not on BC....recently they have made it mandatory, the govt

now requires the young ladies to add fathers name at birth because they have complaints

from embassy that DNA was not matching to men petitioning kids who they had been the

father in the childs life, I was just trying to issue some up to date info that's all.....Period

Name on birth paper or not YOU DO DNA TEST in JA unless it's a step child. So there is no problem if name is there or not.

okay so ...if my father go and get his citizenship ..how long will the process be?and the same requirement as to the permanent resident?

the same process will apply only this time your brother would not have to wait in line for a visa. a visa is available immediately for child of US citizen if child is under 21 at time of filing. currently the whole process is taking about 12 months.
