We received our biometrics letter in the mail on Friday afternoon. The original date was set for 3rd week of August. I went in to try and do a walk-in biometrics this morning and was successful! I hope the EAD/AP will be approved and in production shortly.

July 14 - NOA 1

July 25 - Biometrics Appointment Letter

July 28 - Walk in Biometrics successful

Aug 27 - Request for Expedite on EAD (Job Offer)

Sept 12 - EAD approved and in production

Sept 12 - AP is approved but USCIS status is in 'Post Decision Activity'

Sept 18 - EAD marked as mailed

April 09 - Interview - Delayed due to sealed package from civil surgeon not at local office

May 07 - GC in production

May 18 - GC in hand!!!

You have to wait on the biometrics letter to try to do the walk in. I'm in the same waiting situation for biometrics letter.

Yes you still get RFE after NOA1.. The NOA1 is just a notice that they got ur packet and will give you your Case Number.

Another July filer here...

Sent our AOS packet July 14 and was received July 16. No NOA1 yet. Cheque hasn't been cashed yet either. It has been 15 days since we sent our packet. I wonder why it is taking long.

I was really hoping to get it sooner coz I need it to get a State ID which I need so I could enroll my daughter to a school here.

When TWO HEARTS are meant for each other, NO DISTANCE is TOO FAR... NO TIME is TOO LONG... and NO OTHER LOVE can BREAK THEM APART...

Today's the day that my I-94 expires and with it my state ID. I'm now in that limbo period.

It looks like the May filers are now starting to get their EAD's approved. Lets hope the June & July filers are not too far behind!

You have your I797, look up your local dmv's website and call them to ask if they take the AOS I797 (NOA1 of your I485). I heard some states did, so you might not in the limbo state :) Let us know if it works or not :)

I checked this out and the next thing the BMV want to see is the I-797 (Approval Notice), not the I-797C (which is the NOA1 receipt). The new expiration date of the EAD (or AOS, whichever comes first) is what they want see to prove lawful presence ... for Ohio anyway!

Just did this on Monday at the Santa Ana location. They are super nice there... security guards and the agents running the biometrics are extremely pleasant. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Probably 20.

My case was delivered on Friday July 25, and received emails of NoA for all three Tuesday July 29! Quick question, NoA does not mean that I am free of RFE right? You can still get an RFE after an NoA?

Yes you still get RFE after NOA1.. The NOA1 is just a notice that they got ur packet and will give you your Case Number.

Successfully did an early walk in biometric earlier at the Santa Ana location. I got there at 7:55 am and was out by 8:15!

So much for my theory.

I assume that if you can do a walk-in biometrics before your appointment date that it might speed up the process of receiving the final documents?

I guess so, and that's why lots of people do walk-ins, lol. I haven't received my biometrics letter, this is now 6 days after I received NOA1 in the mail. ARRRR, they are driving me crazy!
