Hey hey everyone!!!

So I have been MIA for a few weeks now. At first I was trying to get the house as ready as I could before leaving to be with my husband. Once I arrived in Portugal we had to spend time with family and then I kidnapped him to Algarve for an entire week. Aside from our 2 week honeymoon, it was the best trip we have taken. Mostly because we could catch up and enjoy each other's company without interruptions. Now we are starting to get all of our documents together for our interview which will be next week in Paris. Then we have to start lacking his things up. Most of his things we will send in a container though (he wants to bring all of his Engineering books and projects). He is starting to get nervous about moving and upset about leaving his country and family. However, we are excited that for the first time in 6 years, we will not have to separate and kiss goodbye at the airport.

I have been catching up on the he boards and reading everyone's experiences. Sukie thanks for the JFK run down. We fly into Newark Liberty International but I think our experience will be the same. I'm happy LiveMyTico is with her hubby again And Bdrew thank goodness you have an earlier date.

Next week I will let everyone know how the interview process has gone. Hoping it's quick and painless. :))

Sending Positive Vibes your way

POSITIVE VIBES for EVERYONE!

Haha...love that Oprah pict.

Hi everyone!

Could anyone tell me when would we receive an alien registration number? Is it right after the interview or will it be in the visa stamp with the passport once we receive it back?

Thanks!

Aww, glad to hear you had such a lovely trip! I completely empathize with you. My husband had similar feelings as his moving date got closer, and there are definitely new challenges and growing pains now that he's here in the US, but we keep reminding ourselves how wonderful it is that there are no more goodbyes. We never lose sight of why it's worth it and I'm sure you two won't either :) Best of luck at the interview and starting your new life together!

Hello, still tired from all the emotions from yesterday, but I have a weird felling going on, maybe do to my pessimist side.

My interview was yesterday, and I had ups and downs. being the downs the actual interview with the CO.

Maybe because I was the first in line for the IV visa, she stayed with me some good 10-15 min. She bombarded me with questions that she wouldn't allow me to finish, to ask another question. for the first time someone actually made me feel bad about mine and my husbands age gap. I am about 7 years older than my husband, a common age gap if the man is older than the woman. But apparently it was some kind of problem, she actually stopped looked at me and was like so he was 21 when you met RIGHT! I felt like a pedophile or something :(

And in the wend she was even asking where the ring was bought and why we decided to marry in the USA: i was actually telling her we were to get married in Portugal, but when we asked the american embassy in Lisbon told us it would be easier to get married in Gibraltar, we opt for the US.(I think she didn't like that, but was the truth) And then she was like, you haven't seen your husband for a year, i said yeah but I was suppose to go there for Christmas, but the Embassy in Paris (your place of work) told me I could be considered a liability due to the IV process and not let go in, because My husband was working and could not let his job to come visit.(another point I believe she did not like, at least by her face). (in the end I wanted to scream at her, YES I HAVEN?T SEEN MY HUSBAND FOR A YEAR I WONDER WHO?S FAULT IS THAT!!!!!)

Then out of the bloom while I was speaking, she was looking at the some of our pictures, she said, OK.

You are approved, congratulations, blah blah blah...(I did not hear anything past the approved)

In my mind I had the feeling things were going so bad, that The Approved sound like something Bad.

Just went to CEAC and I am in administrative processing, that is good right? I am not going to be screwed right?

Please help me!!!

Oh my! Sorry to hear the interview was such a stressful experience, sounds like that woman should've had another cup of coffee (or ten) before dealing with other human beings. Don't worry, AP is normal, they're just wrapping up paperwork on their end. Keep an eye on CEAC and hopefully your status will change to issued in the next day or two :) Congrats on the approval but once again sorry it was such an ordeal.
