A little off-topic:

I was looking at flight schedules when I realized my passport expired last week. So I took my lunch hour to fill out the renewal form, went to the local Walgreens to get my picture taken and then to the post office.

The entire process (trips included) took about 45 minutes. I didn't have to print 50 pages of supporting docs, didn't have to spend 3 hours sorting out docs and fine combing my form for errors, and I definitely do not have to wait 6+ months for my new passport. What a let down!!

I spoke with NVC today our AOS is not quite accepted, but i can bring additional documents on my interview, she thought about tax return 2013. IV not reviewed yet, it was scanned on May 22, she said we'll receive an e-mail in next two weeks, latest last week of June.

I saw you did EP too, and we sent AOS around same time, have you gotten any response for AOS yet? just wondering how long it may take...

When I called today the rep told me that they recieved and email from me on the 20th but haven't reviewed it yet

Oh boy! That sounds pretty serious if they are discussing passport delays at the House of Commons, and they actually came up with solutions!

Well, it's because many of us have been waiting for the IV fee invoice and not much to report rather than "Yep, I'm still waiting. Grrrrr!!!"

Plus, many active people on this thread got a CC last month or early this month.

Well, it's getting easier for me to keep up with this thread because there are fewer postings to read!

Hey I noticed that you re-submitted your ds-261 and was recieved by nvc in May 22 and that's exactly the date that mine was recieved and I still don't have my iv invoiced. Did you do anything different?

Well I sent Choice of Agent email to them on May 16th and they replied to that email the day before the IV was invoiced. I think this is what triggered my payment rather than the version of the DS-261 through the portal. Salylin, have you heard of anyone else having their IV payment triggered by an email rather than the DS-261 completion date?

Here's what they responded with, and it was a direct reply to my email:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: LND2014XXXXXX filed by [petitioner name] on behalf of [beneficiary name].

We received [beneficiary's] Choice of Address and Agent form. The next step is to pay the immigrant visa application fee. We will send an invoice to the designated agent.

To learn more about the immigrant visa application fee, you can visit the website below.

We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days for us to review your documents.

So, I found out my lawyer sent my AOS and IV packages together through EP way before my IV fee was paid, but I'm thankful for it now since they haven't gotten to the e-mail yet and I just saved a bunch of time on my IV package since that took 4 weeks to invoice. We'll see if it all goes well, I'm feeling optimistic!

I am doing also EP, the IV package sent by my lawyer is the same date as yours. I WILL BE WATCHING YOU!
