Hello all,

So I married my wife a few months ago and submitted our documents for her adjustment of status about two weeks ago. We are currently just waiting for notices from the U.S. government and in the meantime, our lawyer has asked us to start collecting evidence of lawful marriage.

We've been living together for the past two years and the leases are under both our names, so is the electricity and gas bills. All of her magazine subscriptions arrive to our address and we have a few postcards and gifts from friends who live abroad and could not attend our wedding.

My problem is that more and more often, people keep telling us to take pictures of us together. We have a bunch of pictures of our wedding with our families & friends together but only a few from when we were dating. Thing is, I've always been very camera shy, so we never took a lot of pictures and I am afraid that this is going to work against our favor. If I start taking a bunch of pictures of us together now, and present very little from before, would it not look suspicious? I'm all for just presenting our wedding pictures and a few facebook pictures of us together with friends, but my wife is getting concerned about this and wants to take pictures of us together all the time... she even bought a digital camera! What do you guys think? Am I being too casual about this whole thing, or is my wife being too paranoid?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you have enough. I didn't send any with my application. I did bring a few to the interview. The immigration officer looked at maybe 3 or 4 of them.

Photographs are considered secondary evidence to my knowledge so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Erica and Lily are correct. Photos are secondary and proves very little evidence at this stage other than two people posed for a photo together.

What is required for your AOS is proof that you are financially co-mingling together. Things to include can be Joint lease, joint utility bills, joint bank account, joint credit cards, proof you are listed as beneficiary, jointly filed taxes, joint health insurance, joint car insurance policies to name a few.

A list of everything that will be required for you to bring to your AOS Interview will be listed in your interview date letter.

We filed with photographs (2 from wedding, 2 from engagement). On the day of our interview, the officer seemed puzzled as to what they were. When I told her and said they were labeled on the back, she looked a little shocked. She simply said, "That's a gorgeous dress." And that was that. Completely secondary. Could've been fancy dress for all we know. (It wasn't). Don't get too sweaty over photos.
