Yep, it is dumb. I guess they figure if you can't complete each step then you aren't actually in the queue. One baby step at a time.... I swear they should do the USCIS and the NVC step all in one. What is the point of having 2 separate centers?

I called today, and got news of my case complete.

Super excited, but I'm surprised that the operator told me my case was complete on April 15th.

I had called on Monday the 21st, and was told I was still in processing. Is there some delay in putting this into their systems, like with everything else at the NVC?

E-mailed NVC on the 31st March still no reply. What are they doinggggggggg

Is there something really important holding you up from moving ahead, which I see in your signature? Maybe you should just call NVC instead if it's adding weeks to your progress?

I am worried about my AOS package. My joint-sponsor told me the other day that she got an extension on her 2013 taxes. But on her i-864 she ticked off the box that says "I have attached a copy of my Federal tax return for the most recent tax year". Does this mean that I have to wait for her to file her taxes before I can submit the AOS package?

If not then what do I need to include? and how will I persuade her to give me the correct documents? lol

You do need her 2013 taxes as the mid April tax deadline has passed. Or maybe others here have better recall on what's needed when someone uses an extension on their taxes. Either way, that page is now incorrect and you or they should reprint it/fill it in properly, and replace the existing page in your AOS packet.

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

April 11 - AOS sent by snail mail.

April 14 - AOS arrived per mail tracking.

April 15 - IV bill received via email, IV bill paid/ in process, IV package sent.

April 18 - IV bill showing paid/ DS-260 available and done!

- AOS scanned into their system.

April 21 - IV package arrived per mail tracking.

April 24 - IV scanned into their system.

May 2 - False checklist for IV documents= AOS approval.

May 13 - NVC rep reported ? missing Police certificate via my phone call.

- Supervisor review initiated.

May 14 - Checklist for Police certificate came via email.

- Sent checklisted documentation priority post!

May 15 - Package delivered per mail tracking.

May 19 - Case COMPLETE!! Police certificate found by NVC:)

May 28 - Case complete email arrived.

May 30 - Assigned Interview date!

Completely agree!!! I've been saying that the whole time and have noticed so many redundancies in the system.

you should have patience in your genes ... it's as bad as polish bureaucracy ;)

Our point exactly. When we received check list for AOS form that my husband send it for sure, I asked why they can't take in consideration the one that he send it in February in USCIS. Oh that's different process we need new one... Ok, so than please don't lost the documents!

A couple of hours ago I received a response to an email I sent to NVC on 27th March. I am sure you will hear within the next couple of days.
