I have Question to Indian or Gujarati.

Do we have to make a appointment to get PCC from passport office or do they serve as walk in?

Does anyone has experinced recently?

Some PSK's differs. I can jus walkin to my regional passport office for PCC without any prior appointment fixed. But not sure abt ur wife's regional passport office. jus call them n ask.

EP doesn't save time, it saves money and you dont need to send original docs in the mail. I was pretty happy to do EP but it IS optional for Canada and China. You don't have to do it.

Hello everyone, I got my NVC case number today.

yay!!

I received my NOA2 3/26/14 and my case was transferred to the NVC. I called the NVC today to ask if they had received my case. I was told they cannot give me any information and that I have to wait 8 weeks before they can even enter my case

3/20/13 Sent I-130

3/22/13 NOA1

11/06/13 Case transferred to Nebrasca Service Center (NSC)

3/26/14 I-130 Approved (NOA2)

From what I've seen, getting the actual transfer to NVC can take several weeks, so give it some time and then call the NVC periodically to check when it has arrived. Then it's at least a month currently before getting a case number. I suggest just reading Saylin's wiki (see first post of this thread) and being ready for when you finally get your case number:)

Finally!! Case number, BIN and IIN assigned today!!

Horray!!

Hello,

Currently we both are living in India (with US spouse). My uncle is the joint sponsor for me(Father-In-Law). What is the process for submitting AOS I mean i864, Do they need US spouse (Petitioner) signatures on that i864. if yes? how can we do that??

Only the person filling out that form is required to sign it, so you don't have to worry about signing your joint sponsor's form.

Case and Invoice Number assigned!! Filled out On-line Choice of Address and Agent (DS-261)!!! Let the process continue!!! Yeh!!!

woohoo!!

Case completed today (AOS and IV sent over night 3/18 and DS-260 completed 3/11)!

Hope April is full of completed cases. Go, NVC, go!

Huge congratulations!!

Ive read some of the posts and viewed timelines regarding petition of spouse of a US citizen..others just took only 24-27 days before NOA2 but others took 41 days..i just want to know how long is the process from NOA1 up to the start of NVC process? Tnx!

You will get more accurate timelines following the K1 threads, as this IR1/CR1 thread is significantly different. Our NOA1-NVC stage is anywhere between 6 months and a year or more...

At least, you are listed as pursuing the K1.... hm, now I'm confused as your actual timeline states IR1/CR1, yet your post lists K1 - time to double check and edit your timeline choices maybe:)

I must say I'm not really sure where you have found 24-41 days from NOA1-NOA2, unless you did actually find those in the K1 fiancé threads.

Ok.. quick question guys.. if anyone can help.

We are waiting for the horrible triangle to disappear so we can pay the AOS fee. However what I was wondering is does NVC wait till they receive your AOS package before they make the IV fee available and then the DS-260?

There is a good chance that we might have to delay sending our AOS package by a couple weeks.. (long story).

thanks guys!

The IV fee is unrelated to the AOS fee and or package. The IV fee will be invoiced once the DS-261 form has been reviewed and accepted. (Case in point, if one has a lawyer during the I-130 process AOS and IV fee are invoiced together. SInce the DS-261 choice of agent form isn't needed, as the lawyer is selected as the agent by default.) After the IV fee is paid and it's updated in their system as PAID after a couple of day the DS-260 will become available.

Essentially there two paths at the NVC; which are independent and don't depend on each other:

1) AOS FEE -> AOS Package review

2) DS-261 -> IV FEE -> IV Package review

-> DS-260 (as soon as fee shows as PAID)

The petitioner and the joint sponsor both needs to fill out a I-864 form separately and signed unless petitioner and joint sponsor both lives in a same house in U.S.A and relates to each other than the form would be i-864 a , i am in the same situation as i am the petitioner and living with my wife in India i filled and signed my i -864 form and send it to my uncle in USA ( joint sponsor) and he filled and signed his i -864 form and send it together to NVC for me.

Thanks ankit, So here my spouse is the petitioner and now she is living with me in india. In USA both are living in same house. Then should we send I864A to my uncle(US)?? Is it correct.

Please advise.
