There's just nothing better. The people down south are just so nice, warm and laid back. Nani and I will be moving south again at some point. Hope that we'll find a way sooner rather than later.

maybe it's just memphis, but i find the racism horrible ... too many bad, dangerous parts of town ... ugh!!!

what state are you moving to?

philly, pa. i hear it's nice. i've got a friend there

oh gosh... coming to philly? prepare to lose 4% of your paycheck to CITY WAGE! hoorah! that's not counting the other ten bazillions deductions that will drop your pay from $$$$$ to $$.

and watch out for those potholes... and the traffic... and the snow because the ploughman will probably skip your road... oh but in july it will be 102 degrees in the shade... and car insurance will cripple you... and the unemployment rate is horrid... but on the plus-side.... erm, um... gimme a minute....

OH! you can have a really nice cheesesteak! (knew there was a positive somewhere  )

in another year or two, we will be moving SOUTH!:thumbs:

(as for racism, there's enough of that in PA... some just hide it a little better. you will find such things in any city or state, unfortunately)

Racism? Bad parts of town? Come to Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh or any other city around here for a while and then tell me again how bad the south is.

CITIES OF 500,000 OR MORE POPULATION:

Memphis is the 4th most dangerous,

Philadelphia is the 7th.

not much difference.

not to mention the fact that the #1 most dangerous, CAmden NJ is RIGHT across the river from Philly.

i dunno if camden is THAT dangerous. i think the criminals from philly run to camden and get arrested there. at least memphis has 'memphis in may'. i would trade a few spots on the danger countdown for some world class BBQ!

oh and philly has 2 of the nation's worst intersections too (#1 is in south florida ).

The second most dangerous is in the northeast section of Philadelphia at Red Lion Road and Roosevelt Boulevard. There were 331 accidents at that intersection. The third is a nearby intersection, Grant Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard, where 261 accidents occurred.

I love Philly; I think it's by far the coolest city in the US in terms of living there despite taxes and the like.

And the South... well that's for visiting relatives and friends who are still stuck there. And for the annual grease fest...
