Hi guys! I just got an email today that my case was sent to Nebraska. I am living abroad but I don't know if that makes any difference. I'm here to join the wait with you guys~ :clock:

Welcome! Yep 5 months is pretty accurate... there are november filers being approved at the moment. Although every case is different ... if you have RFE's (stuff missing or more evidence needed) it can delay the process.

However Nebraska seems to be speeding up lately so that's promising .... It's a catch 22.... they speed up so they get given more cases, which can slow them back down. We can only hope for the best!

PS: Make sure not to get your hopes up looking at phillipines timelines, they get expedited.

Keep an eye on the www.uscis.gov case status search too. To give you an idea, cos I've been stalking their site daily haha. ... those with NOA1 dates of the 24th March or earlier seem to be online. They are up to LIN1690537029 at the moment. However they are still working on that date from what I can see. So it looks like if they keep up this timeline then your receipt number should be searchable around 4 weeks after your NOA1 date.

Nebraska is the service center that will be processing your petition. The NOA1 is the first receipt that they will be sending her stating they "RECEIVED" your petition. The number will start with a "LIN" which tells you that it is being processed there in Nebraska. When your case has been approved they will send you the second NOA2 receipt letter. In the email that your wife got last week should've told her what yall case number was. So ask her to check it and see what the number is. That away she can have it before the letter comes in the mail. I hope this explains it a lil.

NOA = Notice of Action

You will get 2 through this petition process. what is referred to on VJ as NOA1 is the first Notice of Action which states they received/accepted your petition and has been sent to whichever service center. In your case, Nebraska.

The NOA2 is the one stating your petition has been approved and will be forwarded to the Department of State ( aka National Visa Center).

I would advise you to start gathering your documents that will need to be submitted at the NVC stage now so it will be ready to submit when it's time.
