Unless you recieved an email saying to fill out the I-864 just leave the first blank. The second is when you sent the package yes.

The timeline is the same one used when you couldnt download forms and had to wait for them to be sent to you. Life has speeded up quite a bit since VJ was created. People should be thankful instead of complaining so much IMHO. :)

one quick question.

i am in the process of getting the affidavits from family and friends. I thought to submit around 3 affidavits, one from my mom, one from sister who is a USC & a friend whos met my husband.

I have two cousins (usc)who are here on holiday, they know my husband too. Will it have more weightage if we get affidavits from USC over the Non USC.

affidavits are some of the lowest forms of evidence you can send. It doesn't matter if they're from a USC or not. I assume you mean to send them with the IV package.

congrats!

hope you didn;t forget to give them your email add

Thank you!

I was kind of thinking about this because we called them almost lunch time (Philippine time) which is about almost midnight in the states and just about when I gave the email address, the line got cut or maybe the agent hanged up on me. So, I'm guessing we might need to call again but it says they're close today.

Ok, I know that you've probably answered this, and I'm sorry if you have to repeat yourself. But I've read and re-read the threads and especially posts 1 & 2, and have a few questions for my particular case.

I live with my grandparents. I don't have a job because I have no one to watch my kids and child care is too expensive here. My grandparents could not claim me and the kids on their taxes for 2012 as we were still living in the Netherlands but they will be for 2013. I had them both fill out an I864A (ahead of time to make things easier later) as household members. I filled out the I864. In order to prove our relationship, I have a copy of my mother's birth certificate and her marriage certificate, and then I'll have them include a copy of their birth certificates (for their citizenship proof) and their marriage certificate.

Did I screw up here? I keep checking, and rechecking, and I'm still uncertain. It's not an emergency now, as I don't even have a case number yet, but if any of you who've gone through it could give me some clarity on this, I'd really appreciate it.

Remember because they claim you and your child dependents the household count goes up.

Do either of them still work? They will still have to provide proof of current income or assets as well. I think you should think about that it may be easier to send an I-864 and I-864a (especially since you dont work, you have no income to combine with theirs.) This may be easier than all the birth and marriage certificates trying to prove relationships with your grandparents.

Personally that is the route I would go.

Thank you!

I think we're on the same batch as infoneeded. Yours could just be around the corner. Will be hoping for a fast and efficient process for all of us here. This whole experience is just "WOW" (pun intended).

Personally that is the route I would go.

I have a question about AOS. I have a feeling that by the time I will have my case number, I will have my taxes done for 2013. So the question is: Our household income for last year was 29K , however for 2013 it will be around 35K. I am planning to sponsor 2 people, which will make family of 5 (us 3 + 2 immigrants) The 125% for 5 people is $ 34,462. Now, I also have asset i.e. our house is paid up which is appraised around $130,000. Will I need a join sponsor ?

If you're over then no. If you plan to use your house as assets include the appraisal and proof you have no mortgage.

No, they don't. My grandmother receives a pension and my grandfather gets something from investments. But even with our household size being 6, my grandmother by herself makes several times the federal poverty limit. We won't need to report assets unless they specifically ask for them. I already have all the marriage and birth certificates on hand, so that's not really a problem. But you think that having them being Joint Sponsors instead of a Household Member would work better? I'm worried that it will get kicked back to me with a checklist if I do that.

Thanks. We are thinking of side loading as we didnt submit much evidence in the initial stage. Yes I am aware that affidavits from friends and family are considered as secondary evidence. We want to gather as much evidences to show a bonafide relationship as possible. so if it doesnt matter whether they are usc or not then i'll stick with my original plan.
