I called the NVC two days ago and was told it is taking up to 8 weeks to enter the application into the system! I followed up asking her what is an approximate turn around time for the entire process, they refused to answer me and said it can take up to 8 months! This sounds absolutely ridiculous! NVC received our package on 02/05/14

Are others hearing the same timeline?

It takes about a month to get a case #. But the rest of the process varies from case to case. It essentially depends on you, and how fast (or slow) you fill out forms, pay the fees and send your packages. :)

Saylin i need your help again, I filled out all the 864's and now the only thing I am worried about is the total annual income question for my cosponsors papers. Now my mom and dad file together, mom gets her social security and dad gets his pension with ss and rental income from his property now please tell me if I am correct here, would his total annual income be the gross minus my moms social security retirement?

Yes, that sounds right.

I am filing out I-864 form. In Part-6, item 13.a.1, what should i write? How can i find out the total income from my Federal tax returns?

Please Help!!

First off, you need to figure out which tax form was filed each year, 1040 or 1040EZ. From there, you'll use either the total income or adjusted gross income from your tax transcripts (depending on which tax form was filed). Please re-read the question again as it states exactly what line you need to use.

Question, in the USCIS stage when sending passport photo the instructions said to write the info on the photos with pencil or felt tip pen, not ballpoint pen. Does the same apply for the NVC stage? Does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure you can use whatever you want, as long as it doesn't leak through to the other side. I'd suggest just using a pencil.

Mrs. saylin did you create March NVC filers if so can you please give us the link

thanks

Not yet! Will be doing that shortly once I catch up on this thread ;)

Got this scary message when attempting to log into NVC site: (we havent even started the NVC process yet as prior login's listed no bills yet)

This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately.

Yay, congrats, good news! (Hope you've read post 2 as that's not a scary message at all no0pb.gif )

I just paid AOS Fee and its in process, my question is will they mail me the AOS form or I will print it online and when should I mail it.

No, they don't mail/email the form. You have to download it yourself. Once the bill shows as PAID on the payment portal, you can mail the package.

My wifes (beneficiary) passport is expiring in July 2014. We just submitted the DS-261. Should we delay our submitting of the DS-260 with the copy of the passport biographic page until we receive the new passport?? I am assuming it takes about a month to get the new one in the mail so that will just delay us a month....Thanks

You can just use the present passport if you don't get a new one done before you're able to send the IV package.

Hi Saylin,

Can you please add me to the spreadsheet? Thanks.

Added!

yes thats about the answer I got from them. Its pretty vague...

I just want to know approximately so my wife can start working if she isnt coming for a few months....I havea ll the forms/payments ready, I am just waiting for approvals from the NVC. Any idea? Are we looking at 2 months, 4 months, 8 months?

Like the member said already, it's highly dependent on YOU. If you pay bills right away, complete online forms right away, send packages right away, and get no checklists, then it's about 2 months from case number being assigned to case complete (according to my spreadsheet). Then, for most countries, it seems to be about 2 months or so from case complete to interview date.

Alright folks, March thread has been posted: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/483206-nvc-filers-march-2014/

As always, everyone please make your way on over there. Everyone. This isn't like the I-130 threads where you stay in the same thread. We all move each month to the current month. It's just how it's always been :P Within a few days, this thread will get locked.

Haha, there's always one or two people that don't understand why we move each month. So, lately, I've started to include an explanation along with the link. Not to mention, Ryan now locks old threads to drive the point home! But glad you're ready to move on!
