Nice! I guess that's a new thing because I ordered transcripts about a week ago and I'm pretty sure the option wasn't there.

No doubt it could save them a bundle in postage, too, without making much of a difference in their existing IT opex. They send me three first-class envelopes every time I order 3 years of transcripts, I'd think it'd be easier to put it all in a single envelope, but who knows?

Yes, it's a new thing. Just hope that it's secure because I shudder to think what a hacker could do with all of that information! I saw this on a blog so I had to come here and post it.

The moderators should put this link on every forum as a sticky.

I just tried it, although I already received mine mailed, but got a 221g at the interview for our co-sponsor and we are on day 3 of the 5-10 business day wait (mine took longer but who's counting?... ME!) So I tried it so i can explain to my co-sponsor what to expect and it gave me an error because I couldn't remember my student loan payment on a student loan that was closed (consolidated) in April 2012. The fact that I'm always in forebearance makes it hard to remember what the payment they expected use to be. lol Guess I'm just going back to what i know best... waiting. ClockWatch2.gifcray5ol.gif

But super excellent and helpful link. If it were earlier on for us I would definitely make an effort to figure out that payment amount! Thanks!

I am wondering if the transcripts can be downloaded in PDF format from the IRS , instead printing and have to scan the transcript print out into a PDF.

Please let me know

You can print it to PDF format. You have a few options even if you don't have Adobe Acrobat Professional. Here is an article I found with some good info: http://www.howtogeek.com/150891/how-to-print-to-pdf-in-windows-4-tips-and-tricks/

There are free options which you can install like CutePDF (just don't install the crapware that it is bundled with) Writer: http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp

If you have Microsoft Office, you don't have to install anything else - you can already save as, or export documents as PDF.

Google Chrome is another option. You can print to PDF.

So, no need to print the transcripts and then scan them as PDF - just use one of these options. Good luck,

I tried this today but when I save the transcript it only saves as Chrome html document, not as a PDF. I don't have a printer available to print the downloaded transcript right away that is why I need to save it as PDF first and find a printer.

Anybody who can help?

Thanks!
