What is the A-Number on the i-485 form?

Also do i need to fill out the i-131 form although I am not looking to travel anytime soon outside of the US?

Your a number will be the registration number but you need to add AO in front of that number. You dont have to but know that its free when you file all the papers together and it will take you a while to get your greencard and you never know if an emergency comes up where you have to travel back home you will need it then.

Your alien number should be printed on your K-1 visa, I-129F approval notice, or both.

It's generally a good idea to apply for an I-131 even if you have no travel plans; enter "Unknown" as the dates.

The A-number is the alien registration number. You get it when you file for a visa that isn't a tourist visa, to my understanding. If you entered on a tourist visa, you will not have an A-number yet. One is assigned to you once you start the filing process. However, seeing as you are applying for/have? a fiancee visa, it should be on your I-94. It begins with "A0." If you do not have one, you can put "none" for the beneficiary and "n/a" for the sponsoring USC. (This is all to my understanding.. you may want to double-check.)

It's not necessary to file for the I-131, but it wouldn't hurt. The fee is waived if you're filing concurrently with an I-485.

A# is found on your I-129F approval notice near the beneficiary's name. Not everyone has the A# printed on their visa. Trust the one on the I-129F NOA2. No need to put an A in front of it when listing it on the I-485, just put the 9-digit number. See the example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-485.pdf

Yes, file the I-765(EAD) and I-131(AP) along with your I-485. The fees for both those forms are waived when filing with a pending I-485 and I have seen too many people that needed to leave and re-enter the US while waiting for their green card approvals and had wished they had filed for AP with their I-485 to begin with. You never know when something might come up. Why would anyone want to sit around and just wait if an emergency came up? Waiting does not tend to be an option in an emergent situation. Having AP already approved in case of an emergency is your best option.

Your A number is next to his name on the NOA2 from your K-1. I would apply as it is free, you never know when you need to leave. Also, if you want to take a short trip somewhere he has it.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding AOS and maybe someone can help me. I filed on Nov 17 and had my biometrics appointment last week. We got an rfe for form I-485 requesting more evidence financial support. When we filed we sent in my husband's bank statement of the past 12 months, however we didn't send in the deposit and withdrawal history. We got an rfe requesting for proof of assets and it said on the form that bank statements with deposit/withdrawal history are ok to send it. So we send them in again including the history this time but we didn't include the current balance, is that going to cause another problem? From the statements we sent in it's very clear that my husband made way more than the poverty line this year. Does anyone have any experiences with this?

Just a quick question for AOS filiers, how many passport photos are you including with your packet. Only 2 for I-485, right??

You need two photos for each application so a total of 6 if you are filing AOS, EAD and AP.
