Just got here in September, they qualified as an alien that was gonna become a citizen automatically upon entry, thats why i did not have to provide an AOS and other forms when applying for them and USCIS accepted them in that category, but regardless they got a Resident Cards instead. Any help or ideas?

walk in to a big passport office and apply for USA passports.

They will NOT receive COC's automatically. You will have to apply for them (personally you won't need them, a US passport is fine). Read:

--Automatic Citizenship through the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 (CCA)--

--Applying for a US Passport under the CCA--

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/431566-our-story-crba-for-our-child-denied-entering-the-us-with-a-baby-transportation-letter-and-citizenship-through-the-cca/

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

As stated, you won't receive a Certificate of Citizenship automatically (even if they are now citizens under the Child Citizenship Act).

Forget about the certificates, unless you enjoy donating $500 to the federal government, or really really want one, and jump straight to a US passport. This will also serve as proof of US citizenship.

Provided the children meet the four requirements: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1312.html#2 (and these can be done in any order) then you can apply for a US passport for them: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1312.html#7

yup - passports are sufficient.

I suggest getting the passport card and the book - leave the book in a safe and have the card available to show when needed.

You may need the certificate when renewing her passport. So it's better to apply it now, becouse, the fees keeps on incresing. It happens to my friend. He fails to get it when the fee was $200, and he is now payimg over $500.

You don't. There is nothing that you require a CoC for that cannot be accomplished using a US passport instead. For the vast majority of people a CoC is a waste of money.

It's more like over $600 in the meanwhile. Also if you renew your passport, bringing in an old one is sufficient. DOS can also check their systems, if there were any old passport applications. In this case you even can renew with some accepted other form of ID.
