Do we have to wait until the end of 2013? NBC is killing me!!!

Our NOA1 date is May 6, we're close to the 5 months wait and still nothing!. My case online hasn't changed since May 8. When we sent our package we had hope that it would be faster than this. Colombia was getting approvals from NBC in 3 months and some cases even less time than that. I don't see any approvals now from NBC after February, and now I found this:

April 8, 2013- NBC opened its new office in Overland Park, Kansas, where Adjudications
Division 7 will process Form I-90 applications. A new division, Adjudications Division 8, also
will be located at the Overland Park, Kansas facility. NBC anticipates that Division 8 will begin
to adjudicate stand-alone immediate relative Form I-130 petitions by the end of Fiscal Year 2013.
What does this mean? How much longer do we have to wait to get something from NBC? This is not fair!!! I'M SO FRUSTRATED!!! ranting33va.gif

the country in question has no bearing on the timeline of your petition

to understand your petition timeline you have to find out where it is. it has most likely been sent to your local office

things have not really changed since you started nor did they change for me when I started.. everyone will tell you the first approval will average 8 months, less if you are lucky.

take the time to contact a tier 2 and find the location of your file.. it will take some persuasion to have them look at a dozen screens, but it can be done .. then when you find it come back and track down others at the same facility your petition is located

Suggest you follow @Stevie b's advice and expect everything to take a while. From experience setting expectations this is easy and quick are more than not likely to lead to disappointment. The good news is cases that are sound are almost always approved. The reality is that some move fast and some move slow - often for seemingly no reason. Fortunately you have a community of knowledgeable people here who have been through everything and can help with both procedures as well as the emotions.

Best of luck!

I am one that has shot himself in the foot twice in this process and delayed my own petition resulting in a new set of expectations lol

Your frustration is warranted, but I think one thing you do have going, is that you are working on it and it's moving. Altho it is slow, it is in the pipeline. The fiscal year is not the end of the year. Their fiscal year is at the end of September, not the end of December. It does puzzle me however as to why they would send a file to the NBC instead of the local office when supposedly they are not going to start the process till the end of the fiscal year. That makes no sense whatsoever. There are other offices that are working on these right now and processing them. Pray for patience, and know in the end it will be all worth it and you are looking forward to the happiest day in your life, as we all are.

Good luck to you

Thank you all for your responses. I know this is mostly about luck cray5ol.gif However, why I don't get is this: NBC anticipates that Division 8 will begin to adjudicate stand-alone immediate relative Form I-130 petitions by the end of Fiscal Year 2013.

Sounds to me that NBC is not working on any I-130 petition. I thought if my case would be already transferred to a local office it should be showed online. I guess they don't update everything they do with our cases.

you are beating yourself up

yes new facility coming

yes your petition is still processing

yes nbc is still doing 130's

no your case transfer will not show online

updates are inconsistent online

what you fail to understand is the huge blockage that daca created last year

opening the new facility is one of the responses to reduce the timelines of approved petitions and address the influx of petitions

uscis processes several hundred million pages of documents every month.. so what is not to understand about it taking time?

Unfortunatelly the immigration whell turn friking slow every time. It is ok that they check your petition and observe the rules, but it is not nice they delay your case and they get away with iWe can do nothing just pray but that do change the outcome .. see I filed my case since May 2013 since tem I just be transfer from Vermount to Texas and they took 98 days to do it

They killing me and I can't do mierda about it. ranting33va.gif

To mitigate this stress. I already have trip to Colommbia next month to keep worm my fiance hopes or by the time the NOA 2 is being approved will be too late... cray5ol.gif

In the future Immigration should consider granted to anyone file a k-1 visa a pillow a comfortable chair a rubber doll with few pornography videos to help in the waiting process. rofl.gif

The new service center (well its not new) will be open September 28th. So hopefully we will see approvals like we did in August 2012 when the NBC started adjudicating stand alone I=130 45 days and less. All you can do is wait.

Why? Routing !

What I know it's that they never got transferred and they were approved very fast. Those were petitions filed before February though. The system seems dead since March filers.

No they don't work saturdays thats just the date they announced they will start processing. I know as USCIS says that petitions are help at NBC at least 4 to 5 months and depending on your local office then it gets transferred. So do you even know where your petition is? Is it still at NBC or at your local office thats makes a difference. and some offices are crazy backlogged.
