My transfer notice used the same term "local office" but it was sent to the California Service Center. I'm in Virginia. They couldn't have picked a more NON local office. Just an FYI.

Yep, I would wait for the paper notice to see exactly where your app is. I got the local office email too, I am filing from Canada and mine was sent to California. Pretty sure all of the "local office" emails are mistakes as there was talk a few months back that NBC would no longer be sending apps to local offices for processing any more.

CSC is not a local office, that is a service center. The local office is the office closest to your home. For me, I live about 20 miles out from Philadelphia, so Philly is my local office.

Texas Service Center, Nebraska Service Center and California Service Center are not local offices.

It seems like people are getting 3 notices. One of which states Local Office. I am assuming there is a glich in their system. possibly all the trainees or temps scanning the files out to be shipped. just a thought though

I went on the government site and when you go down to check to time of processing. There are only two offices that show up. California Service Center or Vermont Service Center it also shows a 5 month processing time. It also show the USCIS National average is 8.1 months LOL. I hit the National average in 14 days with no action but a transfer my application. If my applications go to California does that mean I will be waiting another 5 months? I will ask these question at my infopass on Friday the 15.

I think the glitches are pretty overwhelming. For the first 6 months, the only service center that popped up for me was Vermont, but the entire time, every time I called they said it was at the National Benefits Center in Missouri. THEN, NBC was the only available selection, then a month later, ALL service centers (CA, VT, TX, NE, and NBC) show up. And they ALL show a processing time of 11 months and a national avg of 11 months. VT I think shows 10.4 months when I select it though. (even though TX shows the bar graph all the way to match the 'national average' at 11 months, it actually says 'weeks' instead of 'months' below the display of the bar graph). So I'm pretty sure it's ALL screwed up and that's why I never trust what I see there, and just keep calling periodically.

I added pics of what I see (changes every week or so...)

So I called the customer service number, got transferred to "tier 2" support. The conversation pretty much as expected, canned responses, with no real help offered. What I thought was funny, the rep told me "Processing times are 12-16 months". Then after noticing my case was transferred to CSC, the next breath she said, "oh well... it is possible you could get approved any day now, but regular processing time is 12-16 months". #######, seems like they are pretty clueless as to the actual status of any given case, and are just there to parrot the information gleaned from the processing timeline from the uscis.gov website.

Ok, I need to walk away from this forum for a while and the idea that I can do anything to make this happen any faster, been driving myself crazy this week.
