Hi everyone.

We got approved 11 days ago and got our noa2 within few days in mail. How much more time will it take for case to get transfered from uscis to NVC? My fiance called NVC they say they dont have the case yet. For how long we must wait for the case to reach NVC and the from there to my home country? Wanna be together asap.

Ours took about six weeks to arrive at NVC. I finally got an answer from Tier 2 that our case files were ready to be mailed, but still sitting in the mailroom in San Jose, CA the whole time.

It varies according to the service center. California tends to send them in bulk, so they will wait a couple of weeks and then send a batch of files. Vermont tends to send them every few days or weekly. However, with the increase in files at the service centers, it is hard to determine now how long.

We received our notification of our paperwork being shipped (from texas) on July 22. I have heard varying things so I got my fiance to call August 5 (2 weeks is usually the minimum wait time for transferring) to get any sort of confirmation our paperwork had been received by NVC. It had been received at NVC that day and they had been confirmed it being there in the system. We didn't get any notifications etc - we called and got this info from NVC (not USCIS). He enquired when we could expect to receive our case number and their response was just "shortly". So that could mean anything really.

I really do think it varies from when your paperwork is being sent from, time of month approved etc as to when it finally gets received at NVC and continues on its visa journey. You really need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks at the earliest for paperwork to be transferred.

I'm in the same situation waiting after our NOA2 approval 7/31/13. I just called and talked to a tier 2 rep, he said mine was ready to send to the NVC but they hold them and send in batches usually go out 10-21 days.

Ours was approved July 5th and the NVC didn't have record of it until last Friday, August 3rd. Took 4 weeks... I called everyday after 2 weeks passed. Unlike USCIS it is a quick phone call, especially if you call when they open.

FYI, We were approved on July 18. I received an email notification from USCIS tonight that our petition has been shipped to NVC (it actually said department of state). That is two and a half weeks to be shipped. I will see how long it will take to be received and processed at NVC. I hope this helps give you an idea of the amount of time it will take just to leave USCIS.
