Hi everyone,

Thanks to all your help, I passed the interview and arrived at the US last month.

I just got my green card today, which is a YAY~!

But i also noticed that the expiry date on my card says 10 years later.

My husband and I got married last year so I was suppose to get a conditional gc.

And the catagory says CR1 as well.

Now it says 10 years... Anyone in the same situation with me?

Thanks!

You were given that card in error, it's a mistake.

Send a I-90 (free) with the card to request a replacement due to USCIS error. This is VERY important. If you don't get it fixed you could run into issues come ROC time.

Send a copy of your marriage certificate, your visa, and the stamp in your passport proving you entered under 2 years of marriage and should have received a 2 year card.

I agree with you... Just disappointed about sending the card away just one day after I got it...

I just called USCIS but the operator didnt even know what a CR1 visa is... of course knew nothing about conditional green card either.

Really professional!

Sorry, USCIS doesn't know squat about visas.

They know a bit about petitions and green cards, though.

Chase the I-90, follow whats in post #2, and go forth.

Remember - the endorsement stamp in the passport turns the visa into a 1 year temporary green card, valid starting the day you POE'd. You can use your passport and the stuff in it to transit in and out of the USA for that 1 year.

Hello - I am in a similar situation as yours. Received my 10 year GC this morning as opposed to a 2 year conditional card. Please let me know what steps did you follow & did USCIS fix the issue by sending a 2 year card.

Like stated above you need tp request the I-90 form and fill it out immeduately.

There's been another fix for this, published after the OP first reported this.

Involves talking with an ISO, IIRC, and no I-90 filing required.
