Hello,

I have a very simple question: how come I saw on this website some members having tons of "congratulations!" for an approval while some other ones can merely make it to the "hot topic"?

Do you have to be special to feel part of the VJ community? Is there an understood club some members are missing?

If I posted here" hello guys, I just got approved for my green card, I am soo happy!", what would make you VJers type a lot of congrats for me????

I need the Perfect Vjers handbook but I couldn't find the guide anywhere on this website! :D:D:D

um, that's all I need!

You have to understand, time of day also plays into how many congratulation "touches" (sorry, couldn't resist :P ) some people may have over others. that, and some members are more active on the boards leading up to their approval, so they have a higher recognition factor.

but then again, I don't spend as much time on here as I used to, so there might be a manual and I just don't know it ;)

People who have waited longer generally get more "congrats" than others as well.

For example the one member who just got approved after something like 370 days.

I agree with the recognition factor as well :P

September 23rd Biometrics notification by snail mail

September 27th RFE : Cosponsor needs to send more proof of his business activity

September 29 th RFE sent to Lee's summit

October 6th : Biometrics.

October 9TH:"RFE delivery refused!!, not enough postage available!"

October 16th : RFE finally delivered after second try!

October 18TH: email notification RFE received! Finally updating things online?

I notice too that VJ cycles. What I mean is that a group of folks who may have applied right around the same time and are going through the same or similar process may become really comfortable with each other. We get familiar and may even feel it personally when those we have grown "close" to get approved. Sit back and enjoy; there are some "regulars" who I just LOVE reading their posts. :D

It does depend on the time of day. If its during a time when alot of people are not on then you may get less, if its during a time when alot are on, you may get alot, i say may bc there are alot of vjer's who dont like giving congrats at all. but its not weather you know alot of people or not. but CONGRATS anyway :P

either way, i dont think our congrats are as important as the initial APPROVAL anyway :)

Untill we got to the stage we are at now, I ued to spend lots of time on here but not as much just lately so I don't post as much. Also I think it is what part of the board you tend to spend most time plus as Ionescu says, time of the day is a factor especially with the time differences around the world

Yep.

Also, the amt of congrats you get will be based on roughly how much time you spend talking to ppl forming relationships with them. Plus, if you don't know many people, why do you care about the Congrats?

I'm not a "congrats" type person. I'm happy for people who get approved, but generally I don't post a "congrats" post. Looks too much like post-whoring to me, and I'm not that way in person either. If someone knows me well enough to care if I'm happy for them or not, then they already know that I am.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I am just happy this site exists and wish to thank and congratule everyone for their contributions. Heavens only knows where Claudeth and I would be without VJ! :thumbs: It is nice to be able to share successes and even to be able console disappointments. We are a community and a pretty damn good one if you ask me!
