Yep. They know they don't need to update your fingerprints, but they do need to update your background check.

Of course, if they tried to update your fingerprints and found that they've completely changed, that would be a whole new world of inquiry...

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

My visa was issued today! Woohoo! Best Christmas present by far! Hopefully the big move will occur by mid-January and we will finally be together for good. :)

We will have to travel to the next county over to get married since we want a simple courthouse wedding and Duval county has stopped offering wedding ceremonies altogether after same-sex marriage was legalized in FL last January.

Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it!

For those applying to remove conditions (ROC), what supporting documents are you submitting in support of the application? I take it that these supporting documents are dated within 2 years of the green card approval date?

Zuluweta, your documentation should be from the time you married.

Most important: documents that prove you have been living together (Lease, deed, mortgage)

Documents that prove that you have combined your financial life (bank statements, credit card statements, insurance).

Docs that show you plan a future together (wills, medical powers of attorney, docs that name your spouse as your beneficiary).

Next: Children, if applicable.

Docs that show you are living life together (travel, automobile, boarding passes)

Docs that show you have a social life together - pictures, affidavits

Best to you and yours!

I've already submitted supporting documents from the date we got married up to the green card interview date. Why do I have to resubmit these documents? My GC was approved the day after my interview. Shouldn't I just submit documents the USCIS don't have, namely papers and pictures dating after the GC date?

I'm sorry, zuluweta, I answered your question the way I did because I assumed you were a CR-1 visa recipient. Sorry for misunderstanding.

@Nad&Cass We are in exactly the same position having submitted in early Sept. too. It seems ROC is a lot of hurry up and wait.

Have you added your name to the thread for Sept 2015 ROC filers? It is pretty quiet right now, but that's the best place to see what's happening with others.

Based on how things have moved along for July and August filers, we will probably be in limbo for another couple of months if not longer.

Happy New Year!

How strict are they in combining a couple's financial life? My fiance was raised in such a way that he's very uncomfortable financially depending on another (he even gets agitated when I pay for the grocery shopping), and while we've never really spoken about it, I foresee him being opposed to sharing a bank account (I don't mind having separate accounts, so I wouldn't push it on him). That said, since I'll be working full-time (he plans to go back to school as soon as he can), more than likely he'll be on my insurance plan, so we should have that for us at least.
