Hi, I'm from Malaysia chinese, work in Singapore since 2005. Work permit holder. Just got rejected for my B1/B2 US visa this morning. Me and my boyfriend were really felt sad about it.

My boy friend he is US citizen. We know each other thru a online social network. After few months we decide to have our 1st Long Distance Relationship. Due to he has limited annual leave, so I decide to visit him on this November, and It would be our 1st meeting.

Unfortunately my visa application got rejected by law 214b. I think I know the reason why the consular rejected my visa, I were not honest enough answered when she asked me "how do you know your friend?" I were shocked and don't know how to answer her. I told her we know each other that thru fitness, and some other answer which it not related to her question. After that she keep look at her computer for few min, and told me "unfortunately this time I cant approve your visa"... I've expected.

I wanted to know is it because I didn't give a affirmative answer? She doesn't ask for my other document like bank statement, employer letter, pay slip... and rejected me after that.

Now we are a bit worry for my 2nd apply, what and how do I answer the consular when they ask me about my relationship with the friend? My boy friend said I should tell them honestly, that we know each other from online and planning to visit him.

Sorry to hear that news.. May be the consul doubted your intention on visiting.. Probably get married when you are there then Adjust your status. There are many illegals in the US who does that to cut their waiting short. May be your boy friend can visit you or file for K1 if you are ready to settle down.

If you are attempting for 2nd application I think they have the history of your first denial (you have your boy friend in the US).

Best of luck!

Im not sure what the consul put into your profile. In case you will re-apply, they will see your history of denial. They use a system where they can see everything. Just in case bring lots of evidence with you that you are coming back. They might ask you again the "friend" you told the previous consul just to make it clear to them. It is very hard to make up stories to them because they may ban you from entering the US. Just answer them honestly whenever asked.

You should always be honest with CO as suggest by your bf, unfortunately it is always difficult to get visa for young single woman as too many have abused those tourist visa in past.

Each and every answer you gave gets recorder and stays there for years.... so you wanna make sure you are always telling the true story.

I don't think it matters where you apply from they will be always able to see the prior history on the case.

Sorry, but your answers were not consistent.

You said you applied early so you could plan for your visit and then you don't have the details about your Zumba event because it is too early.

What does that mean? Through fitness?

Good luck

The IO's are specially trained to detect deception. Inconsistent answers, not answering the question asked, very vague answers are all signs of deception. That's why you were denied.

Unfortunately, because you lied and it's on record, you may never be able to get a tourist visa now. Why doesn't he just visit you? That's how it usually works since it's hard for young single people to get tourist visas to the US.

BTW-- To immigration when a young single female says she has a young male "friend" in the US, they know it means boyfriend. (Same for immigrant males who have "female" friend in the US)

He can't, cause have limited paid leave for vacation. So which mean they will assume my friend is my boyfriend? My purpose was just to visit state that it....

Well, i think based on some cases eventhough he is not your boyfriend yet he is a USC and you are single... Officers may have the idea that you will not comeback and get married.

Given your history of denial, they might ask you regarding this and they can match your answers from yourrevilus interview. They are reAlly strict in giving tourist visa now a days like what Harsh_77 and the other experienced members here said.

It is so hard to prove to the CO that you have a clean intention given there are already past histories that tourist visas are used to skip the long Legal process.

If you want to try your luck again its fine. Just answer them honestly...keep in mind that they can BAN anyone from entering to the US once proven fraud.

Goodluck!

OP - yes the other applicant took couple years but your situation has to have some change when you apply again, which is not going to happen quickly.

Trust me none of the COs would ever believe a young guy and goung girl met online are just friends.

I think as CW mentioned you said you were applying early so you could plan but when CO asked you about any event that were planning to attend you did not have answer.

For young single woman its always difficult to get tourist visa, so many have been abused in the past there is nothing you did wrong or you could had done differently would had helped.

You can always try again, good luck.

Good day,

I have been going to U.S Since over 2 years ago and I have my brother and my newly wedded wife in U.S

I just got married in U.S about 2 months ago and my wife is a U.S Citizen.

I live in Canada and was just denied an extension of U.S Visa in the consulate because I told the officer my wife is in U.S and just got married some months ago.

He denied me the visa and told me to go and apply for Spousal Visa or K3 Visa if I still want to get an extension.

However, I am planning to get a R1 and K3 Application as I don't have any other option than to file in the application.

This is my question

My U.S Visa is still valid till first week of December 2013. Can I still use it to go to the U.S from Canada and come back before it expire?

I don't want to take a break or vacation at work and later told that I am not able to go to U.S by the boarder services. I am not sure if the officer put any note on the system on my behalf that will make the boarder services deny my entry to the U.S

More also, the officer was aware that I still have a valid visa and do not cancel my visa that is still valid till December.

Please, advise if it is still good for me to go to the U.S and come back before the Visa expiring date

Thanks

If you applied for and were denied an extension, chances are you won't be allowed entry into the US any time soon. The record of your extension denial will be in the system as are all of your visits to the US. What type of visa are you traveling on? If you are newly married, you should apply for the CR1 marriage visa.

Also, in the future, you should start your own thread with your question, rather than tagging on someone elses. It tends to confuse things.
