No, he can pay for your trip... You are the USC and he is sending the money, not you sending it to someone in a foreign country (which is the usual scam route) plus I would think the cultural norm would be for the male to support the female and be the one sending money, not the other way around (although I admit i could be wrong since I am not Muslim ) but either way, that Should not be an issue.

A more common scam is a poor petitioner getting paid by a rich beneficiary for immigration.

OK. I would not want it to seem as if he were paying me to get him here. Yes, that is the norm in a Muslim marriage, for the husband to provide financially for the wife.

If anyone else has any insight on the financial aspects I would appreciate it as well.

Thanks!

My husband paid for my expenses three times when I went to visit him in Jordan before he received his visa(I traveled 5 times to Jordan before he received the visa). I was at the interview with my husband at the consulate and the CO asked us both who paid for my trips, we were honest, and there wasn't any problems.

It is not that difficult, my sister in law lives and works in Saudi Arabia. She is single and unmarried and she doesn't have any problems as long as she wears a hijab and abaya in public. She goes to cafes, the mall, all over the place with no male chaperone.

I meant more in needing a male relative's permission to travel there and get a visa. Is that not still true?

My husband paid for all but one of my trips to visit him in the USA including the one before we were married (and the two he came to visit me with.) It would not be abnormal for a fiancé to pay for a ticket to see his soon to be wife. The likelihood of your petition being approved without seeing him is very very very slim, so I suggest taking your chances with him buying you a plane ticket. :)

I sent my wife (then fiance) money both before and after the wedding. I used the receipts from Western Union as part of my "proof of bonifide relationship", co-mingling of finances (we also had a joint account together in her country), and financial surport during my CR-1 petition. It is not uncommon for men to provide support for their SO. Even here in the U.S. I don't think it would be a problem for your SO to pay for your trip.
