Hello,

I am currently working for DoD in support of OEF / OIF in a war zone. I am a non-military personnel. I recently filed for my spouse from an APO address. I was wondering if I can get my case expedited. If so, how should I proceed?

I have filed for CR-1 (immigrant visa) 3 weeks ago. USPS tracking number shows that USCIS lockdown received my mail a week ago, but no NOA or text yet.

All I can say is give it a try, call either the usual # or the military helpline, nothing ventured nothing gained! Even if you don't get the military expedite, maybe you can qualify for another one, and at least they'll have looked at your package.

BTW OIF is now Operation New Dawn

Received NOA1 email today. I am unable to track it online. It starts with MSC. I also called to expedite it. Let's see if it's granted. When I called USCIS, they told me that my case was received on July 2nd even though I received NOA1 email today

Just called USCIS and spoke with tier 2 and they told me to fax in te evidence. I asked for an email address but they said that they don't have an email address. I don't have access to a fax machine. I have read here about emailing the evidence to USCIS with supervisor's name. Does anyone know the email address for uscis ?

Try doing a online search for a internet fax service. I know I did it once, don't remember the name, but just had to upload the document and provide the number to send it to. Think the first 3 faxes were free. For the evidence, since you're a dod employee, you probably had orders? I'd use that and a cover letter explaining your situation and what you're requesting. When I requested my expedite, I included my deployment notification letter, and the cover letter. It was approved the next day.

To answer my own question, yes, DoD civilians can expedite and get approved if they are deployed in a war zone. I faxed my military Appointment Orders as a proof and got approved.

Congratulations, si man!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

That's good information to know! Obviously not a topic that comes up much but I'll be storing it in my little memory banks. ;) Congrats!

I'm sorry I'm new to this and trying to figure out how to post. Anyway...Please help us.,

My husband is in the exactlly same situation as you are and we have been waiting our approval forever. We had our NOA1 in April and since then it's nothing.

I would like to know what / how you put the reason to expedite the case.

In addition, my husband is also in the air guard and he has to do his drill once he gets back to the states.

Thank you very much in advance!
