I can't believe it - Our case is in transit to Germany - whoooohoooooo smile.png I guess "administrative processing" is the NVC standard sentence before the case left - our case was only 2 days at the NVC(left on the second day) !!!! But it took a month to reach the NVC after NOA2!! I am so happy! I wish all of you see their case numbers soon!

Congrats !!

Although it's true that it doesn't HURT you to bring it, with London specifically, it's not something I've seen them look for. They really do want just the basics there. Other countries are obviously different, so if you are not going through London, this advice may not hold true for you, but for London K-1 visa applicants it doesn't seem to be necessary at all.

With that said, anyone who isn't comfortable can gather whatever non-electronic items will make them feel better and bring them as a back-up, but my advice in that case would be to separate your extra papers from the ones requested specifically on the London Website list. You don't want to have to search through hundreds of pages of chats or what have you to try to find what they want to see. This way you can hand them what they require and make the process as smooth as possible. I wouldn't hand them anymore than the documents they request until they specifically ask for something more.

Well yes, only hand what is asked. I'm just saying that it isn't a bad idea to have additional evidence in case that is asked for. It's what I'll do. All the required docs and forms will be in the front of my binder, ready to pull out and hand over when asked. All the relationship stuff is in the back, only to be pulled out if, and when, asked for. See my link below to see how I organized it.

And I agree that Manila will ask more than what London will ask for at the interview. And the reasons for that are obvious.

Yes, all the embassies have their own protocols, but QOB was replying to a query specifically regarding London and the advice she gave was spot on. I was just basically trying to clarify that her advice was correct for the poster she was replying to, with the addendum that folks at other embassies need to be sure to check their own embassy guidelines specifically as they may differ.

It's always good for people to double check that embassy information they are reading about is embassy specific, because unlike USCIS where there is a set standard for everyone, the embassy standards are all different and everyone needs to get their information from others in the same area. This is why I am so often directing folks to the regional forums. This is really the best place to get the proper information as it doesn't get all congested with details from hundreds of embassies around the world.

I would still bring relationship evidence to the interview, even if it is likely you won't be asked to see it. Never say never.

London doesn't need it and doesn't ask for it. We front loaded our petition as is, and everyone who has gone through London has said they just pass it all back to you before the interview. Nich Nick (the UK expert) has always consistently said not to bring a ton of Skype calls or e-mails, as they simply do not want it.

To London applicants:

http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html

Check the "Document Checklist" at the bottom. The reason VJ says to make a duplicate copy is "just in case" anything is lost, and also it applies to all consulates. It can also help to review what was sent to USCIS pre-interview to refresh on what the CO will have on the day.

However, London does NOT want piles of relationship evidence or original evidence of boarding passes, etc. Only what they have listed on that checklist.

I just called the NVC (I have been calling them everyday) and they said my file was received on the 15th of July, so it takes several days to show up in their computers. However, the lady I got on the phone was VERY rude and would not provide me the case number.

I contacted my senator's office to contact them, hopefully that will expedite it. I will update my timeline now. My NOA2 is 6/18 and the petition was sent to the NVC on 7/11.

Well Steve wrote our congressman and they replied saying

"I called the Texas Service Center and our liaison explained that they are having a hard time consolidating the files that need to be sent to the NVC. However, she was going to sent an e-mail to the department that handles it and believes that the file will be pulled and hopefully have it sent to the NVC by tomorrow."

Sincerely,

Well the proof is in the pudding, lets see what happens tomorrow

Finally got our case number!!! However, had been told that it will take a week before they will send the case to MNL embassy. It is very interesting because I have been on hold for like 5 minutes only unlike before (always take 20 mins before I speak to a representative). The person I spoke with sounds like a robot/hard accent. I guess NVC just outsourced "new agents/representatives"

I checked the NVC website and it says "IN TRANSIT." Called NVC and our file is being shipped to the Embassy! Waybill doesn't show it yet, but the NVC operator said it was mailed out the 18th and any further questions need directed to the Embassy after they receive our file. Now we wait for packet 3, although ours is already filled out and ready to go.

The Embassy gives you the interview date if you are a " K " filer, I called NVC today and asked for the interview date and they directed me to the Embassy. Of course it is in transit and once they receive our file, than we can inquire about any questions we might have.

On the "in transit" notice it says an interview date was provided for you by the NVC. What does that mean and how to know the date or do we just wait? thnaks!

That is a standard text in the transit notice from what I've seen. For interview processes, you have to check with the embassy that you are assigned, they each have their own process for setting interviews. They aren't all the same.

I just called NVC and surprisingly got through right away. They said my case was JUST received today and that it take 2-4weeks to be processed!! WHY is everyone giving us the run around! How long does it really take them to issue a case number? This is just getting ridiculous seriously... Maybe I should try calling DOS tmrw. My NOA2 is June 19 and it was shipped to NVC on July 11, so tmrw makes exactly a month since my NOA2
