Just got off the phone with NVC.

It has been 15 business days from my NOA2 date (May 16). After I gave the operator my MSC #, he said they have no record of my case in their system. When I told him I got an approval notice with a May 16 date he instructed me to send an email to nvcresearch@state.gov with a copy of the NOA2 and they will look into where my case is.

Is it a good idea to go ahead and email them? And has anyone had experience doing this and received an answer? I know when I had emailed USCIS back in April they never responded, so I wondering if this will just be a wasted step.

Yes,I did email them (NVCResearch) 4-5 times from March-April w/ a scanned copy of my NOA2 because it took almost 2 months just for my case to reached NVC after our NOA2. You will get an AUTO Response each time right after sending an email. NVCresearch will respond in 2 weeks, either your case has been recently received OR an email with your case# and IIN already and IF NOT, they will tell you that 'they have no record of your case and that they will contact USCIS on your behalf..'

Those were the responses that I received.

Good luck! good.gif

Jughead - another route that works -

contact the Immigration Liason Staffer with yer Congressman (you have 2 senators and 1 Representative) , sign the release form,

and ask them to chase it down at the local office.

It's quite possible it's still at the local office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So each time you got a "we have no record of your case" email, did you just send them your NOA2 again? Did you do anything beyond emailing them to find out if your case was received or just wait for them to email you back with a confirmation that they received your case?

I just sent an email to NVC and got the auto response.

I found this contact form on my local Congressman's website which they indicate to mail to their office (Word file at bottom): http://frelinghuysen.house.gov/assistance-with-federal-agencies/#Case Form

Do you recommend sending this now or wait and see what kind of response I get from NVC?

Now. FAX IT OUT to their office.

SCAN the signed version, send it off in an email

well, wait.

Monday. On Monday - call in, ask for the name of the immigration liason staffer, ask for their email address as well.

But - fax it in AFTER talking with the ILS human. EMAIL IT IN as well. Make it a file attachment, and in the body of the email, include the biodata on the 2 of you, which local office it was approved at, and tell the ILS human (in the email) that you are concerned that the local office is planning to route it to NRC when it should, instead, be routed to NVC.

I would not wait on NVC at all. Review my profile, you'll see the #@#$ing hurdles I went through on this silliness.

IMO, these be 2 seperate paths to hunting down the casefile. Memphis waited 60 + days and contacted NVC often - no other venue. An ILS human will contact the local office and see what's what, and give direction for getting the casefile out to NVC.

Using the TELEPHONE first alerts the ILS human to the problem (even they won't start on it that second) but if'n yer fast on Monday, the ILS human will start the work on Tuesday. Sure, it's going to be 10 days before you hear back, but if you don't start, you won't know.

I'm a bit different in my approach to this - I did not do it the SAME way that Memphis did. Sure, I utilized NVCResearch, but it was only 1 of 3 things that I did to coax my casefile out of the local office and get it into NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hello everyone! smile.png Checking in here too.

We just got the emails from NVC a few hours ago. However, they have one word on my address (the beneficiary) misspelled. Can we get it fixed by calling them? Or is there a process for it?

And in the email, we have the invoice for the AOS already but when we try to sign in to the payment portal it's still saying "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information." sad.png Is it normal that people get the email but the payment portal is updated later? Will it show up Monday since there will be maintenance tomorrow? I'm getting anxious because of it. Please help! Thank you!

I am quiet nervous now because it sound so strange to me. I dont know how effective and quick the alternative payment method will be.

Seriously - if you can't see the 'advanced search' thingie in the upper right hand corner?

Come back on a PC, have another look.

search term -> 'NRC'

click on 'display as posts'

then read.

you'll learn about NRC and the nightmares ..
