Hi All,

I need some help filing my renewal of EAD.

On question 16, what category do I fall into, c9 or c16? I'm thinking c16 (based on continuous residence since January 1, 1972)

would that be correct an in that case I file the application at the Chicago Lockbox. (which is also the lockbox where I applied for my AOS and EAD originally.)

Thanks guys,

Jen

C-9. if it's an EAD application (new or renewal) based on a pending I-485.

Enclose a copy of the front and back of your current EAD, as well as a copy of the NOA for your I-485, and no fee will be required.

And yes, the renewal is sent to the Chicago Lockbox.

C9, same as the first time you filled it out. You have a pending I-485, so you follow the instructions and send it to either Phoenix or Dallas depending on where you live. Include a copy of your NOA receipt notice from filing your I-485.

Edit> Scratch that. It is Chicago. The other 2 are for employment based. Must stop posting while sleepy.

Haha, THANK YOU BOTH! :D

Fingers crossed I get this new EAD before it expires in JULY 11th, OR even better, that I get my GC.

I can't imagine having to stop working because of possible delays in processing. That would be a nightmare after getting into living LIFE here in Jersey, working full time. Pray with me guys :P

So a copy those, plus 2 passport photos. that's it? :)

I'm doing the renewal too. My EAD expires at the end of July and I was wondering if I had to mail it to Dallas facility or Chicago. My category is c9. In the i765 instructions says that if you live in certain states (I live in FL) you have to send it to Dallas.

But now I read here that you have to send it Chicago. I'm confused.

I never thought I would have to do the renewal, I had hopes that I would have the GC already by now. I have been waiting for almost 1 year. :crying:

It is Chicago. See this page and scroll down to (C )(9 ): http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=73bbb6f2cae63110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD

I think I mistakenly gave the wrong info in another thread last week and I must find it and correct it there too :(

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply Jay Kay.

One more question as I just remembered. My EAD card was a combo card EAD/AP. If my EAD expires in July 2013... Does it mean my AP expires at the same time??? If so, should I also send the form i-131 for the AP?

Yes, send both forms and the supporting documents for each, being sure to include a copy of your NOA receipt from filing the I-485. No fees for either one still, since you have the I-485 pending.

For the question about Which office did you last apply?

Would that be my local USCIS office, where I did my fingerprints? Or the Chicago Lockbox??

and for the date question? Would that be my NOA1 date?

or the date I actually sent it??
