NVC Filers - April 2013

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

We got our NOA2 on March 25th (VSC). As all the other posts suggested we waited a week and then began calling NVC to see if they received the file. The have not received it until now. We also called USCIS and got through to a Tier-2 rep who said" There was no indication that the file has left VSC". Also, just pointing out, a week after we received our NOA2 our status changed from Post Decision Activity to Initial Review again (April 2nd). It said something along the lines of "Your Alien Registration number was changed relating to your I-130." We are not sure if the status change from Post Decision Activity to Initial Review a week later is what is holding our case back. Is there anything we can do to get our file to the NVC? Anyone else had this happen to them?

Thanks!

Some times they reply toughly on our calls , one of them was so harsh when i called .. she didn't even give me time to ask what i want .

Thanks all for your help ...

Then call back and talk to someone more helpful. I seem to have really good luck with agents so far.

Ok i will do call them again today , but do u know if they keep a record on system of these calls ?? are they gonna hate me for calling twice today ?

Yes, they keep a record of your calls. I found this out once when I got an operator, after calling a second time, rudely tell me to stop calling and that I had already called earlier and there were no changes.

So, I paid the AOS bill on Saturday, but it still shows IN PROCESS. I paid the IV bill on Tuesday and today it shows PAID. Does anyone know how long it takes for the AOS to show PAID? I just want to make sure that this isn't an error and that sometimes it takes a while. It hasn't been a week so I'm probably jumping the gun. It's just that most timelines show that their AOS fees showed up PAID within 3 business days or earlier.

Dear VJ members,

I have received the following checklist for my two minor kids:

What should i do? Does it mean that my child will automatically become a US citizen once he enters US with immigrant visa ?

ps: my child has born in 2011 when i was a green card holder. Then in 2012, i become a US citizen.

I have sent them a separate i-864 form for my minor child, as well as for spouse.

I just received this checklist for my minor child.

When i called NVC today, i have been told that as a US citizen and parent of child, i should fill and sent i-864W for exception.

Please, help to clarify this issue.

If you are a citizen, your child will become a citizen automatically once s/he arrives with immigrant status. You only needed to file the 864W.

We did call USCIS and spoke to a Tier 2 rep but they said there was no indication the file left VSC. I dont think they could give us anymore information regarding our file. My status went from Post Decision Activity (March 25th) back to Initial Review (April 2nd) which just does not make any sense. We have the NOA2 hard copy. Just feels like theres nothing you can do when USCIS and NVC dont seem to know whats going on with your file.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be very helpful! Thanks

Great! Thank you for information.

Just curious: did you had the same situation; meaning at the time when your child born in foreign country, you or your spouse was a LPR?

And then your minor child entered to the US with immigrant visa?

Today I received a checklist from the NVC for my IV fee.

I am waiting to pay this as I accepted a new job and between moving and delay of my first paycheck, I am low on funds.

Is this normal? Should I contact the NVC?

Absolutely normal, don't sweat it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
