7 months

Hello everybody.

Today it's been 7 months since we submitted our I485. It's apparently in Missouri Service Center. I don't know if it's a good thing or not. I called USCIS a couple times and couldn't talk to a representative. Is there anyone out there who has been or are going thru the same frustration that I am?

We submitted our I-485 the end of November '12 and were approved on Feb. 15th. Our petition was also handled by the MSC...it's the National Visa Center now, but it still carries the initials of the old Missouri Service Center. You should call the 800 number until you get a live person and find out what the delay is. You know, the U.S. government is a HUGE bureaucracy. Sometimes stuff just gets misplaced. But it seems that seven months is way too long. Good luck.

It can take a while. A friend applied last June and just got the GC production update.

Just a minor correction. It is not the National Visa Center(NVC). The NVC is in Portsmouth, NH. It is the National Benefits Center(NBC) located in Lee’s Summit, MO. All AOS cases go through there.

Your petition got approved so quick because you had an interview -so msc sent your petition to a local office. The petitions that are kept at MSC for processing without an interview are taking longer than 7 months. There are other discussions going on this topic right now.

There are july and august filers whose petitions are at msc still waiting to be processed
