Hello,

I wouldnt know what is acceptable but to prove our relationship i sent pictures of us together, facebook messages between us. I also had a letter written from my dad, stating i traveled with him to mexico and that he knows about our relationship. and two friends who have known us since we were both kids stating that they have known of our relationship since the beggining, and that we have been together ever since and that they know of our plans to marry. The woman who helped me prepare this called the letter "affidavits"

I dont know, but i hope this helps!

the OP isn't asking what an affidavit is, they are asking for an example of one.

Do you have other evidence like pictures of the 2 of you together, plane tickets, passport stamps, things of this nature?

You cannot prove you have met in the last 2 years with an affidavit. You need primary evidence, such as passport stamps or boarding passes. Proof of ongoing relationship and proof of meeting in the past years are different things.

Sorry! :/ But since they asked an example of an affidavit, i thought it could be letters from people stating they know both the persons and about the relationship. All of my latters stated we had met. I guess the "affidavit" part is confusing, i always thought it was statements!

Actually the RFE has me scratching my head a little. I sent with my petition my own statement, photocopies of my boarding passes from two trips, and photocopy of my passport with stamp from 3 trips. Along with about a 6 photographs with us together. So I am wondering what else they would like have.....

Thanx - K

I dont want to bug with the same thing again.. But maybe that is what they need. Letters from family memebers, friends stating you and your fiance know each other and have met.

Greeting All,

There is none. You have to have tangible proofs of meeting in the same place such as passport stamps, airline boarding pass copies, hotel receipts with both names listed, etc.

I could personally give you any affidavit you want to afford and swear to it. They are secondary evidence, the same as photos.

But... when put together with the primary evidences, the total speaks for the meeting.

Then try drafting a letter describing your meeting and how the evidences support that. If you sent evidence of more than one meeting maybe that was too much and USCIS is having a hard time determining when you did meet at least once, within the last two years. Maybe you sent too much and they are confused. Help them to help yourself.

I never used affidavits for this (or anything else) because you only need to provide evidence you have met at least ONE TIME in the previous two years. Other evidence is so much better than self generated affidavits that the affidavits are pretty useless.

That said, there is no "format" an affidavit would just be a statement that someone has knowledge of you meeting your fiancee. Their statement would be unique to their knowledge.

I used boarding passes, passport stamps and ONE photo of us together. That was sufficient.

Were your trip dates less than 2 years from when you sent the petition?

They don't care when you've met. They want to see if you've seen each other in the past 2 years. Good luck!

Are they looking for the intent letter? Did you both include letters saying you will marry in 90 days?
