Hooray, y'all, I just checked the website and we're approved! I've been checking it daily for weeks and our case never even showed up until today. So I guess the auto-expedite is happening for overseas folks and happening fairly quickly. Good luck to everyone else!

Congrats! kicking.gif

I also agree with that. I think that's the whole point about auto-expedite. We already knew about the long timelines and how hard it can be to prove a real bonafide marriage to the US government when you never lived together ; this is why when we got married with my husband, we decided that he will move to France first in order to make things easier for the CR1 process that we'll do later. It is actually really easy to get a french spouse visa, it didn't even take a month.

Then I know that not everybody can plan everything as we did and it makes me really sad for all of you, especially all the people who had to wait more than a year to get their NOA2. I just think it's scandalous

I thought it was better for the petitioner to live in USA, to prove he has a job and a domicile there, than living abroad....

My husband and I lived together but we decided for him to move back to USA, so we wont't have problems with the visa....So strange :(

Yeah, it is, but as long as the petitioner has a joint sponsor or enough assets, then it is unnecessary to move back before their spouse.

Our AOS and re-establishment of domicile paperwork was accepted. ;)

So was ours, actually, and we didn't send too many things to prove domicile. It was pretty simple. We had a cosponsor, though, and I know that's not a possibility for everyone.

For now, it's better because it goes fast but when we'll have to prove that my husband intends to re-establish domicile in USA... I think it's going to be harder... We only have a letter from his parents stating that we can stay at their place + his french visa expiring in march 2014... He has absolutely nothing on his name there, not even a bank account. We might get an RFE... We'll see :)

There are banks in the States that allow you to open an account online. I think that there are a few threads dealing with it. Enter your search terms in the search box and there should be some information that pops up. Also, does he have a drivers' license? And unexpired license can be included in your package. Good luck!

It's recommended that you wait about a week and then start calling every day until you get your case number. Congrats on your approval!

I don't know. Do we really have to call in fact ? Can we just not wait for the papers to arrive by mail ? I read everywhere that everybody calls but I don't really understand why ?

Thanx for the advice. The thing is that my husband's driver's licence has expired after he arrived in France. It's impossible to renew it from abroad and to be able to open a bank account online, they ask for a unexpired valid state ID or driver's licence. It's a circle with no end :bonk:
