Hello,

I just joined the forum and am curious to know about others who filed as early as Feb. 25, 2013 (our NOA 1 date) and are still waiting for NOA2 approval. Our petition was moved from Vermont to Nebraska on Oct. 22, 2013 and we have heard nothing. lCalls to USCIS get a recording saying that we need to wait 5 months from the time of transfer before inquiring about our status. This would extend our wait until March 22, 13 months after our NOA1.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? What good does a service request do?

Thanks

Will and Angela

Definitely put in a service request. Not only it is past the date they post on their website, even the timeline in momths they have posted. I would get a service request, involve your congressman/senator. You also probably have the 60 day letter (will process within 60 days of the transfer). Contact the service center directly as well. ask to Talk to Tier 2 when you call them, they usually have some more info.

Thanks for the responses! Our lawyer confirmed that it would be helpful to get our congressman's assistance. So I have written requesting his help and will phone their office tomorrow. According to Nebraska Service Center's site, we should have been adjudicating in October 2013. Does anyone know where to find the Nebraska SC phone number? The only number that I can find (402) 633-4000 only gets standard recordings.

Keep pressure on! Write an email a week or an email a DAY to senators and congressmen. I'm convinced that's the only reason I was finally approved. I wrote many, many emails.

Hi Will and Angela,

Yes I am in exactly same situation. My priority date is 25 Feb 2013. I had filed when was Green Card holder but now I am US Citizen. The priority date had become current since last August anyways for GC holders but there was no movement in my case. I have talked to local congressman's office and they have contacted USCIS but their reply is very typical 'come back after 90 days'. Did you had any progress since last post?

Hi Okema,

This week is our 57th at step 1. Our petition is still at Nebraska. I followed forum advise and did several things:

1. called US Senator and Congress office in Seattle. they were helpful, but could only report back that Nebraska office is dealing with "unresolved issues" in our application. USCIS said call back in 45 days if we haven't heard. That was 40 days ago.

2. our lawyer requested a USCIS ombudsman and to get a service report. this was 3 weeks ago. we haven't been appointed an ombudsman yet but are scheduled to get one. they cannot say when that will be.

I've reported back to the US Senator/Congress office that nothing has moved, but I sense that the ombudsman route may be the one that works.
