I know there were couple of you having trouble at the social security office and they sent you home to wait 4 weeks cause the EAD is too new. And also had trouble getting a driving license. Just wanted to share my experience with you all hope it helps:

The day after I got my EAD card I went to the social security office. They usually say wait 10 days before you go, but I couldn't wait. I was desperate to get my driving license as soon as possible. I received my card on 4/11/2013. On my EAD the date was 4/3/2013 and I went to the office on 4/12/2013. It was almost 10 days, but not yet. I printed out and fill out the form from the internet on the social security website. Went there and the guy just asked for my passport and my Ead card and the form. He said everything was fine in the system and I should get my number in 2 weeks. I told him I want to get my driver license and if he could give me any kind of documentation. He said I could come back on Tuesday cause they need 48hours to have my number in the system and they can give me a print out then that has my number on it. So I did go and got the print out with my number.

After that headed to the DMV. She only needed my EAD, SSN (I only had the print out) and 2 proof of my address. My other license expired for 11 months which was from a different state. I gave her that too. I was wondering if they will make me take the written test again. But I only had to do the eye exam. There was no problem and now I have my driver license. Wohooo.

got my notice in the mail for interview yesterday, (and the email/text early this morning) interview scheduled for May 15, which of course I won't be in Hawaii any longer as we are moving to the mainland May 9, called USCIS to reschedule, they can't move it earlier, so have put in a request to have it moved to an office close to our duty station. should hear in 15 days apparently. the girl seemed like she was experienced, and I did get a confirmation number after she entered a ton of information into the request, I told her I could send in a copy of my husbands orders (with my name on it) but she said it shouldn't be necessary.

This is the one part of the process I'm now a little nervous about, its going to be tricky as we move out of the house in 18 days, are staying in a hotel down town for a week, then fly to Chicago for a week and then drive down to KY/TN to report in May 17, and again, we'll be staying at a hotel on base for up to 60 days, hopefully they will allow us to put the hotel on base down as an interim change of address. we'll have mail forwarding to my parents in laws house in Illinois though, so hopefully my EAD/AP will at least be sent there.

If you have time to call I think you have nothing to lose if you call. I would call for sure, but they might tell you that your local office is busy and that's why they didn't schedule you guys yet. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Hope you get good news:)

my updated has changed to testing and interview as the same time as you, and I just received interview date notice this morning. If you still hasn't got anything by next week, you should call 1800.

Called the 1-800 number this morning. I just wanted to get a warm and fuzzy feeling to make sure they didn't have an RFE request that was lost in the mail. I was told to be patient and call back after 30 days if I haven't heard anything. I will keep my fingers crossed for something in the next week. Thanks for the support. Waiting is the worst part.
