GC Interview- approved!

So, we had our interview today and got approved. While it maybe a formality it was still a little stressful! Got there about a half an hour early. Kind of somber room filled with people and no one talking, television not on and no clocks. Got called in 10 minutes after it was scheduled. We had a very nice gentleman as our IO. He swore us in and then asked how we met. He then caught us off guard when he asked for copies of e-mails and cards from when we were dating which we didn't bring. However, I had a copy of all our photos from the last 3 years when we were dating and us with my wife's family which he seemed happy to receive. He then asked about insurance and I gave him a copy of my wife's health insurance card, photos that we have taken together over the past 4 months, copies of joint savings and checking accounts, copies of cards and packages my wife received in her married name at our house. He then asked if I owned our home, yes, had I been married before, yes, had she been married before, no and neither had children. He then went through the I-485 questions and checked them off. He said we should receive the card in about a week at which point I had to ask him if she was approved, yes. All in all about 10 minutes and very pleasant. When we got back to the car we had the e-mail and text that the I-485 was approved! Relatively painless!

I reckon I won't be lurking around here much over the next 21 months until it's time for ROC. Just want to say thanks to everybody for their support, suggestions and advice especially Ning and Karee. Thanks again and best of luck to everyone on their journey and I hope you reach your destination soon!!

in a few weeks, call into USCIS hotline, get a human, ask for USPS tracking # on the greencard,

then check the tracking # at www.usps.com

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Well he had a thai omelette with chiles and rice for a late lunch so I reckon we'll go out to dinner! And with AP/EAD card the USCIS sent us texts/e-mails with USPS tracking number and it was spot on!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Our interview was about 10 minutes as well...but we were not approved on the spot...we just found out today we were approved when looking at our status on the USCIS website...its a great feeling Im still giddy over the utcome!!!!!!

Hope you guys have a wonderful night!!!!

Our love began in 2010....our Journey in 2012 (January) and now we are at peace until 2014!

Timeline (kinda-- Im not putting exact dates- just months~)

--January 2012-- Sent our I-485 and I-130 packet off :)

--February 2012-- Touch-- Need more evidence.

--February 2012-- Sent more evidence.

--March 2012-- Biometrics and Doctors App (around the same time)

--June 2012-- (BIG PROBLEM) Immigration sent us a 'DENIAL' letter due to not having a sponsor (I thought we didnt need one)

--June 2012-- we hired a lawyer and got a sponsor, got the I-290B Motion to Appeal or Reopen had everything sent off by the end of July 2012.

--October 2012-- OUR APPEAL WAS APPROVED (breath easy, we didn't have to wait too long)

--October 2012-- Work permit sent-- got SSN

--November 26th, 2012-- AOS interview-- Got sent out told to get a translator and new interview date would be sent. :(

--January 8th, 2013-- Second interview...went well but no idea if we were approved or denied....VERY STRESSFUL!!

--January 15th, 2013-- APPPPPPRRRROOOOVVVEEEED!!!!!! (checked on USCIS web site)

--January 18th, 2013-- Card Production Ordered....welcome letter (hard copy) in the mail!!! :)

--January 24th, 2013--CARD IN HAND!!! DONE!!!!!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
