my timeline jumped forward

I know I'm not suppose to put much stock in the vj timeline and for a while it said there weren't enough approvals to make an estimate. Today however it says my petition could be adjudicated between Dec 23 and Feb 1. It use to say around April. My noa1 is Nov 20. Anyone else have a BIG change in theirs?

What probably happened is that someone with an expedite or several people with one were approved and skewed the results. Count on it taking at least 5 months.

Based on your filing date, you're about a month earlier than I am. The projected adjudication date is also, similarly, about one month apart. I think it's just based on reports of people with that particular service center. We seem to be lucky to have our petitions go through California, though... I was expecting May/June, but it now looks like, based on the timeline, Jan-Mar.

What would Xenu do?

Hopefully you get everything done in 6/7 months.

There have been a few fast tracked recently, that greatly effects the timeline. I very much doubt you will get your NOA2 by the 1st of Feb.

It jumped because it recalculates when new information is added by other people.

mine also jumped.

however, someone here said they called the California Service Center 2 weeks ago, said they were still filing July filers. meaning they're on their normal 5 month projected schedule.

Yeah that's what I saw on the graph - July.

I don't want it to drag on and on but I also don't want it as soon as Feb 1. I started to panick because we don't have all our paperwork ready. I need to stop looking at that timeline but I can't seem to quit!

i can't seem to quit either even though i understand in my head it is not entirely reliable. however, california seems to be on time with their 5 month schedule...so i just wait, and wait...and wait. and then when i'm done waiting, i wait some more.

As of January 4th, CSC was only processing July 17th K-1's. I can't even put in a service request even though my application is technically past their 5 month processing time. They told me to disregard the update on the USCIS website as it was not accurate...

The timelines are askew right now because very few petitions were processed in the last month and a number of those were expedites. The algorithm looks at the most recent approvals and the average time in processing then calculates your estimate. It is junk information right now since there is no good recent info.

Another post says that the reason there are few approvals is because of the dream act. Makes sense. Most of the petitions with NOA1 date of July 20 and later haven't yet been processed. That means nearly 6 months have passed for those folks still waiting. If the post about the dream act is correct they may have another month to go, for those from late July. Normal processing starting at that time would push us all out to about 7 months.

Not good news, but at least it explains the situation. It's not what we all hope, but it's the current reality. I'm in the same boat, good luck to all of us.
