NBC vs Local Office

Just wondering if all the cases sent to NBC are sent to local offices? or only a few are sent to local offices? If not all are then is there some method by which they decide to forward it to a local office or is it random?

but there is no rhyme or reason for how they are doing it some stay at NBC some go to local offices. People who filed in August still waiting while those from October are being approved..it is a mess

I called today and ISO said for cases where spouse is out of the country they keep the cases at MSC and if spouse is in US it is forwarded to local office

Not true at all. I just got a request for evidence asking for my husbands birth certificate from the Dallas office and my hubby is not here stateside.

They seem to be big on birth certificates for beneficiaries recently, for some reason.

Yes they are and thank God when I saw the posts about this a month ago I was proactive and had my hubby send me his and now I can send it to them tomorrow and hopefully have an approval before Christmas

Maybe he meant the petitioner, not beneficiary. As in, those filing from abroad stay in NBC while those who are filing from inside the states are sent to their local offices?

Ours appears to have stayed at NBC since we never received notice that it was being transferred. My husband is the petitioner and is in the U.S.

When did u file i130? Did it transfer because it jurdiction over the case to other office? And now you got rfe?

It is all on my timeline and signature line. Yes got an RFE from Dallas Texas office

I was basically told the same thing about the petitioner being abroad.

That is how it seems to be going, but there just haven't been enough cases processed to be 100% sure. Also, I don't believe what I am told on the USCIS phone line without seeing it happen first.

Hey guys, so when my wife filed my petition, just to be on the safe side, she sent our wedding pictures and my birth certificate along with the docs incase of an RFE, so now our petition is at the Houston office, but the wife is here with me in Pakistan. we safe ?
