One thing about republican politics always confused me. The Tea Party revere Reagan but if he were living today his policies would be way too liberal for them. How did they decide he was so great?

In my case it was because I lived thru the carter years and watched another American apologist ruin this country. Then came Reagan and lead America back to greatness. Yes he made some mistakes. He spent too much, he granted Amnesty to illegals, but he did a lot of great things.

The Amish are averse to any technology which they feel weakens the family structure. The conveniences that the rest of us take for granted such as electricity, television, automobiles, telephones and tractors are considered to be a temptation that could cause vanity, create inequality, or lead the Amish away from their close-knit community

To answer your (implied) question, the cut off point is where a worldly possession would cause jealousy, which leads to strife.

Yeah next time I'll give them the hard Amway sell.

They knocked on my door Christmas morning once. I told them I don't believe in god. Big mistake. After 20 minutes of listening to their BS, I was like it's Christmas man! I have drinking and drugs to do today in Jesus' name. Get the #### off my porch! They gave me some pamphlet and left. I guess I'm on their blacklist since I haven't seen them in a few years.

I figured tying them up for 20 minutes, was 20 minutes less they would annoy someone else.
