We finally took the next step in our marriage and now have a new addition to our family. Her name is Mia. She is a 2 month old domestic short hair tabby that we rescued from a local animal shelter. Her previous owners cut her tail to make her a bob-tailed cat and also clipped her ears. Geeez, talk about stupid people.

However, she has adapted to life in her new home quite well. Marina has been spending her time now with a new purpose. The kitty has been a wonderful addition to our family. Somehow, I feel like I have slid down the totem pole a little. :rofl:

No, seriously, it has helped Marina when she is missing Brazil to have Mia loving all over her. I wish I had done this a little sooner.....

Up at 8am to the sound of meowing. So, drinking coffee and watching the kitty run around crazy with energy this morning. Her mom on the other hand is not quite the morning person.rofl.gif

Congrats!!! Having a new kitty is such a mood lifter for those missing home! When I stayed with my fiance for six months we got a kitten during my 2nd month there. It made such a big difference, I was happier being home while he was at work just because she was there. :luv:

Oh my gosh lol, I just looked at the picture of your kitty, she looks JUST like our kitten! So adorable!

What a nice thing to do for you and your wife, and of course the kitty too. Sounds like kitty has some great owners now! I got a cat after being here for a year, it was definitely a great way to feel more settled. I wish I had done it sooner (although I don't know if our other cat agrees :lol: ) There aren't many feelings better than knowing you have a kitty/kitties waiting for you when you get home!
