HEY GUYS, i have a question. We used an attorney up until the NVC stage. The AOS and IV bills were sent to us for payment. the payments have since been made and we are sending off the AOS ans IV forms on Tuesday. I am just curious about what will happen next. Since our journey so far has not followed the same structure as other members who did not use an attorney. Anyone outthere who might have used an attorney, what happens next after the 2 forms are sent out? Do we get a packet with instructions or an invitation for a medical? Thanks

There is only ONE difference at NVC if you use a lawyer. And it's that you don't send a DS-3032 (as your attorney is already automatically designated as one). Because of this, the IV bill is invoiced at the same time as the AOS invoice. That is the ONLY difference. The rest of the process is the exact same. You still have to pay bills, you still send in both packages, etc etc.

In about a week or so, if your packages are accepted, then your case is complete (you have to call to find out, there's no email for non-EP folk). Your case is then put into queue for an interview date to be scheduled. Once that's done, you'll receive an email with the interview date along with instructions about the interview. You do NOT get any information about your medical. You get it from here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html

I reckon the medical can be scheduled once case is complete. Saylin, you are a star. Been seeking an answer to the question you answered for weeks. God Bless you.

Sorry Darnell, if u read the earlier post, this is a different question i asked on this thread. Reason being that the earlier question was not quite answered. Saylin, actually gave a more precise answer to my question thus saving me from further ridicule. As a member of this forum, if i really cannot help with a question, i really dont bother making any comment. Thanks for your earlier suggestion. Cheers.

I wouldn't suggest waiting until 1 week from the interview to get ready. Get ready NOW. Start going over the form NOW. If you gave all the blank forms to her, would she be able to fill them out perfectly? If not, you should go over them a couple times per week until she can. I don't know how hard India is, but she should know all the answers on the forms like the back of her hand. And go over ALL the questions here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions Tell her to go over the forms and those questions as often as she has time for them.

I don't know anything about VFS. But I don't think you submit anything except the passport. The proof of relationship is brought to the interview. Which, by the way, you should be getting together now (if you haven't gotten it all ready yet).

I'll get on it :) Thanks very much, Saylin!

Thank you so much for your help Saylin you are the best! And everyone here is a thousand times more helpful than the operators at the NVC! So we,re trying to finish our ds 230and there are some confusing things! My husband the USC lives with me here in Egypt for now, but he has a permanent address in the US. Itis his mother,s address cause he moved with her for a while before he came to Egypt and we plan to live with her for a few weeks in theUS until we find an apartment of our own. Now we are confused when filling in the I'VE form. In question 16 address of spouse should I wite same as my address or his permanent address in the US? I already included his address in the US in question 10 an,d his mother,s name as someone who currently lives there. Then question 39 again asks for name of petitioner and address, which address should I include? Egypt or US? I don,t want to provide conflicting answers please help :help:

Just got off the phone with an agent who told me there are no updates on the case.

I at least expected them to know of the DS-3032. She said that they haven't even asked for it yet.

Is it possible that I sent my DS-3032 too early? Should I resend? Are there any consequences for resending it?

The AOS disappeared from the payment portal on Friday morning. I am hoping I get to pay the invoice today. I feel my case is moving very slowly. Is it just me, or are others experiencing this too?
