Sorry to hear that things didn't turn out how you wanted, but you have nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of. Talk to your family and friends, they will not judge you. Everything is harder if you chose to deal with alone...that's what family and friends are for! All things hurt more when they are fresh, time heals all wounds, I know its a cliche, but when something is true for long enough it becomes cliche! Stay strong.

We all at certain times in our lives find ourselves broken. True strength is found in picking up the pieces. Be strong and be positive! It shall come to pass.

Thanks everyone. I have spent my 30th birthday in my bed crying my eyes out. I really thought that I had my happily ever after. I don't deserve this.

It's always darkest before the dawn. The light is so imperceptible at first, but inexorably it gathers strength and soon the sun is shining again.

If you look at how you would be in a few years with a failed marriage instead of getting a better start, you'll be glad this day happened, hard as it was.

Thanks everyone for all of the support and kind words. He is 26 and not ready to be a man, I guess. He may have realized that a real woman requires a real man and wasn't ready. But once I get over someone, I never look back. He offered to be "really good friends". How could I be really good friends with someone who has no regards for my feelings. He needs to grow up.

wow but if you guys REALLY loves each other WHY NOT move there???? i mean if you love this guy either u or him will make way..why give up?

goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked this response. Who says anybody's partner has to move here? When interviewed by the police, to get consent to marry, they had all the questions placed toward a move to the United States not the other way around. Just because two people marry from different countries doesn't make it a marriage based on a VISA.

Not like it would have made a lesser difference if he'd done it before or after your birthday... either ways, he's scumbag for thinking marriage/relationships is just about him alone. Sorry this happened to you... I would think it's for the best it happened now. Someone deserving of your love and kindness is out there waiting. Be happy and smile cause it's your birthday!

I'm glad so many positive responses and support you have from the VJ. You're right about him not deserving your friendship. You don't need a friend like him. I hope you feel better and heal that wound soon. don't think about the past, the present is right now and don,t worry about the future because is not here yet, god has a way of making things happened and they all have a reason as to why, tomorrow you may think about it and realized that it was for the best, Happy b-day.. today you're hurting tomorrow yopu might be smiling and him regreting he's decision.
