I'm sure it's not lost. But the time frame is unacceptable. They're doing nothing more than sending paper through the mail. Why does this need to take over a month?

Our NOA2 was 5 June, but no case number after 14 days. I called both the NVC and USCIS and asked them to tell me what they are observing. NVC guy said they are told to say that we can expect the case number in 15 business days, but he said it is taking about 30 right now. I called the USCIS, and a lady there told me that it is taking the CSC 30 days to "process" the files to send to NVC.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed the process up?

Thank you.

I am sure you would hate to hear that but there is no way to speed up this process, all you can do is wait. My case took 2 months to reach NVC (you can read that in my previous posts) and just 2 days ago they finally got it, but...I am still waiting for the case number. Be patient and wait. I know it's horrible and stressful, I was going crazy for 2 months as well, but IT WILL BE OK, EVENTUALLY.

30 days or 30 business days?

I see cases being received in everything from 11 business days to 2 months.. This is crazy.

Called today, still nothing. This is what we got from our congressman

I received the following response from the California Service Center:

USCIS records indicate the I129F petition WAC 12 901 41760 was approved on May 30, 2012. The petition is in the process of being sent to NVC. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the case to arrive at the NVC.

We apologize for the delays and any inconvenience caused. Please be advised the CSC is taking every action necessary to get these cases to NVC and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing.

Given this information I am expecting that your file should be with NVC very soon. Hope this helps,

Congrats jaejayC! ^^

But wait, if they really ARE being sent in big "batches" then why did only one of ours get there? jaejayC's, GandK's, and my NOA2 dates are all within a few days of each other. They should be in the same "batch." I don't understand why only jaejayC's would be there. =/ That's frustrating. I was hoping if one of us got to NVC, it would mean the rest of us did too.

I just got the good news 3 hours ago.. Remember, us VJers make up around 0.2% of all filers out there.

The CSC approves anywhere from 4000 - 5000 petitions and applications a day. Usually around 500 - 1000 I-130s alone, would imagine around the same number of I-129f as well. So if guesstimating that 2000 of those 4000 - 5000 are NVC-bound I-129f and I-130s, I would assume there are more than one "batch." Frankly, I don't buy the "batch" idea and think it's popcorn worthy. The CSC sends out hundreds if not thousands of petitions each day to NVC.

I waited 16 business days. After checking Igor's list for recent NOA2s from CSC, the norm seems to be 13 - 18 business days. I would be surprised if GandK hasn't heard anything by Friday, and you by early next week. Also, it does seem like a few batches in April were mistakenly sent to the NRC instead of NVC. I don't think there's any reason to suspect late May NOA2s were.

That's true. It's good to remember the big picture like that. I just need to be patient. Those one to two month waits keep being at the back of my mind. Maybe now that the NRC thing is over it will get better. I'll just keep calling and checking.
