Hi shorty, have you checked if your petition has been touched lately?

USCIS has announced that they are transferring some of their workload elsewhere, hopefully that will free up their resources for F2A cases again.

(See http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=c3c7ca7c5fed9310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD for further info.)

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

Have you and your husband created an account on the USCIS website? If you have, you can check on the touches yourself - just log in and see if the "last updated" date has changed. If you don't have an account yet, it's time to create one. The information is not always updated, but I still like to check our account once a week (our last touch is still from August 2011...).

You just need to go to uscis.gov/Sign up for Case Updates and follow the instructions there. When anything is done with your file - from moving it from one desk to another to an someone actually reviewing it - the file's bar code is scanned, and this is reflected as the "last updated" date on your account. Touches may mean absolutely nothing, but they may also mean that an officer is actually reviewing your petition and that an RFE/NOA2 is on its way.

Our petition seems to be sitting on a shelf in Vermont, gathering dust... no touches for 14 months.

The Customer Service Center staff are notorious for giving people the wrong information, but I really hope in this case they know what they are talking about. It's definitely time for the VSC to start adjucating petiotions from February 2011! You could be current in about six months and they need to approve your case soon. Keep us posted!
