Is it true? The CO Folks at the Embassy check your Facebook activities to view you and/or your fiance's/spouse' behavior? Many people use aliases and many people have the exact same names, so how are they certain the accounts truly belong to the Petitioners and/or their Fiances with pending cases with USCIS?

I have heard they do. Assume anything you post publicly will be checked. Post accordingly. They do not have to be "certain". Suspicion of fraud is good enough.

I doubt checking Facebook accounts is 'normal' but it would be naive to think they never do. After all, often it's just a click away.

Given there are hundreds of thousands of petitions and visa applications each year though, I highly doubt they have time to check everyone's Facebook. I'd guess it's the exception rather than the rule, but if they do suspect fraud somehow anything goes.

But with all the aliases out there on Facebook, not to mention people with the same first and last names, how in the world can they be 100% certain they have the right people?

I don't see the issue with COs checking fb or VJ for that matter if you have nothing to hide why worry. Go to the Canadian embassy reviews and you can read confirmations of both.

People keep thinking they can reinvent themselves online (aliases...lol). Names may change but photos tell a story. Have you googled yourself lately? There are even free sites that give your past addresses and your parent's names.

I meant Muslims

The government is checking the Muslims to see if they are terrorists

If they knew who the terrorists were then they would not have to check so many male Muslims

And I would say 99.9% of Muslims are incredibly wonderful people

Then why not make everything private on facebook? You don't need to make everything public. There is the option to not allow yourself to be found in the facebook configuration or found via google. If you are that worried, then disable them.

Unless they are gaining access by hacking or using some law that requires facebook to allow them access, then they shouldn't even be able to see beyond your profile picture.
