I think that's good. I did the same thing, only I didn't send my request to the embassy as well (but you and your wife's case is different). I also copied the congressman.

LOL..."hurry up....and wait!" :)

I was informed to contact the embassy by a visa specialist at DOS when i called this morning

Exactly. You did right, I think. Sending copies to everyone makes sure that everyone has it (and they can't say you didn't tell them what you were doing).

NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Saylin since you get asked almost everything here on VJ I thought you might like to know how they look on the medical exam up here in the north.

In Scandinavia it is okey to book the examination without even having the interview scheduled. It is also not necessary for pregnant woman to have the chest xray, we don't have to do the xray after the baby is born either. Just incase you get a question about it...

Good day VJ Friends! I have a question out of curiosity. How long after your interview date is assigned, does your package get shipped over to the respective Embassy? (When does it actually leave NVC?)

My interview date was assigned last Tuesday and our casefile is still at NVC. Just wondering

BTW ... 60 Days for POE! and to have my wifey finally with me! Yaay!

Ha...sounded like a rap song!

I would not care about when or how long it'll take as long as you have an interview.

One more thing, I saw you wife's medical scheduled time, PLEASE make sure that your embassy has no minimum requirement of the medical folder to be received. In my case they asked my wife to get the medical 2 weeks before the interview (1 week MINIMUM) to allow enough time for the medical report.

Good to know! I knew there was the Philippines and the UK that allowed advance medicals. Adding Scandinavia to that list ;) And glad they don't make pregnant woman take X-rays...

Typically, it's the day after the interview date is assigned. Have you asked about it to an operator yet?

It's not an error though or anything, I have seen cases where they've remained at NVC for a week or two after an interview date was assigned. Perhaps they're just waiting for a couple of other cases to the embassy before sending it out.

I know how you feel, busy and frustrated with work and life, yet hanging on a GOVERNMENT AGENCY to make you happy. How messed up is that?! :P I have no doubt your invoice will come soon. NONE whatsoever, so hang in there! And you're welcome for the motivational words...I'm not that awesome, do too much complaining for that - but thanks for thinking so :) Hugs and happy thoughts for other people - those things I do well, lol... :star:

when u put it that way. it makes me sound so pathetic... LOL :P but i get what ur saying... positive thoughts, positive thoughts...

Don''t worry. U should get ur IV bill invoiced today as well. :)

thanks... :)

[...]

A little suggestion: instead of being sad/angry/other negative feeling when you see someone else progress through NVC, why not be HAPPY for them? Imagine you're that person, passing certain time ticks, and actually feel good about it. By doing this, you'll bring that IV bill (and everything else) to you sooner than you can blink ;)

hey!!! i was feeling happy for the others (see earlier posts prior to the last 2)... my mood just became progressively sadder... but i am MOST DEFINITELY happy for those making progress... i don't wish anyone ill nor am i begrudging them for their progress...I would just like to share in that happiness as well... sorry VJ family if i was displaying negative thoughts (F)Just a lousy day at work... I'm happy for all those making their way through NVC...

Grats on getting your case number!! Wow, 29 days... looks like NVC is now taking 4 weeks to assign case numbers...

And yes, you can send the DS-3032 email now. Refer to the first post with the FAQ that I wrote ;)

Oh, no, I wasn't saying you weren't feeling happy for them, but, I meant, when you see someone else's case progressing, close your eyes, and imagine you were that person, feeling the happiness. Don't just congratulate the person here, actually feel what they must be feeling.

Do you remember the feeling you got when you found out your I-130 was approved? Or when you got your case number assigned? Be feeling those feelings of happiness every single day! You'll be in the US before you know it if you do ;)

Thanks Saylin! Yes I just talked to the operator and she said that the case was still there with them @ NVC. If I remember correctly, last Friday an operator told me exactly what you just wrote that sometimes they wait for a couple of cases to get interview dates assigned and then they ship them in bulk, or something like that.

Hi!

First off, NVC is taking around 3+ weeks now to assign case numbers. They're still assigning case numbers with NOA2 dates of mid to late March.

All you can do is be patient and keep calling every day. Try around 5pm ET. I found that to be a perfect time to call and only had to wait a maximum of 5 minutes for an operator.

While you're waiting, I'd suggest you get both packages ready to go.

I'd like to add to what Saylin has said here as a reminder to everybody. It seems that just lately members have been expecting instantaneous case numbers, notification, case completes, interview dates. So I'd like to suggest that before asking why you haven't got xxx yet you look at the current timescales to see how long things are actually taking. Most of the posters on here have added timescales to their signatures - and if you haven't please do so to help others - and include the beneficiary's country.

Having said that, fun whining about the lack of invoicing due to the price change is allowed but only until NVC sort it out.

Scandinavia, pregnant, no Xray and USCIS/NVC survivor, now that's impressive.
