Hello Everyone!

Help-me, please!

I’ve read all posts this month and not seen anything like.

My NOA2 was approved on 02/22/2012, which supposedly were sent to the NVC, following the guide line here, I have been calling daily in order to obtain the case number with a continuing response from NVC that they have not yet received the case. Today the NVC attendant informed me that the delay abnormally long and request me to send an e-mail in order to verify what happened.

I'm doing this process by a lawyer and passed this information to him and he said that “a month or two is not an unreasonable time to wait for the NVC response”.

My question are: This already happened to anybody here? What can have happened? What do you think I should do?

Tell your lawyer that you know of people who received their NOA2 in March and they already have their NVC case number. Do you have a copy of your NOA2? If so you can scan it and sent it to an NVC supervisor to have them research your case.

My husband just sent the passport style photos for his IV application..

They look like a mug shot for a Ukrainian serial killer

I think everyone looks terrible on these pictures. You should see mine...

What do you think I should do?

my thoughts to you is: call back the NVC and talk to a supervisor. Ask them to explain you exactly what you have to do in order for them to search for your file. They should ask you for a scanned copy of your NOA2 hard copy.

Then, skip the lawyer, he'll only slow you down (already confirmed by his typically clueless answer). When NVC finds your file, tell them that you fired your lawyer and you want to send a DS3032 to chose another agent. Make sure the beneficiary choses the petitioner (or themselves) as the agent. Follow the guides and shortcuts linked in the 1st post of this thread, and you'll be fine without your lawyer, and things will go much faster.

Not sure I should be worried I sent the DS-3032 email 2 days ago, this is the same as OPTIN correct? I sent it to the NVC inquiry email and I got the automated response from NVC. Should I have gotten a different response? Thanks

Nope, definitely not the same thing

DS-3032: choice of agent form

Optin: to sign up for electronic processing

You're not eligible for EP though, so don't worry about any of the EP/optin talk.

All you should get now is the auto-response, and in a few days, a DS-3032 response (acceptance/rejection).

Saylin, I have only 1day left to tie our interview waiting days' score (I'm @ 14days)!!! are you sure you're playing fair?!

I played fair, trust me laughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.gif

BAHAHAHAHAHA...they accepted BOTH optin emails. :bonk::dance: Just had to resend the birth certificate because I didn't have enough information in my original email. They should take it now too, no issues. Whee!

Wow headbonk.gif So you're doubly signed up for EP. Maybe you'll zoom right through this process :P

Yup! I was worried about that so I did a test scan before I sat down and scanned 42 pages one by one on a flat bed.

oh another FYI.. if using a flat bed, make sure the glass is clean :) (One of my kids musta tried to scan a PB&J sammich at one point!)

I'll gladly give them my money for my husband! I'm sick of paying people to change the oil in my car :P

Glad you did a test scan first ;)

And haha laughing.gif

My husband just sent the passport style photos for his IV application..

They look like a mug shot for a Ukrainian serial killer

Yeah, mine weren't too fantastic either... see here: http://s128.photobuc...PhotoSheet1.jpg

I have seen the word "OPTIN" severally now. Is this for those who are eligible for EP? Also I have seen a few posts about "scanning pages, some 42" and also talk of the "resolution" of those documents.

Can someone please fill me in. It's hard to catch what y'all are talking about. Thanks.

Yes, the optin email is part of the EP process, only available to a few select countries (link to the list is on the first post), yours not being one of them. So just ignore the optin, scanning, and emailing posts. Those don't apply to you. You'll be snail mailing both the AOS and IV packages in.

Thanks for the explanation. I don't have to worry about that yet.

Yet? You won't be worrying about that at ALL. You're not eligible for EP.

I got my Optin acceptance this morning.Wow! pretty fast. But still cant log in to payment portal. No AOS invoiced yet. What about you?

Wow, grats on the speedy acceptance! Wish NVC was that fast when I was there. I would have gotten through NVC so much faster...

Wow headbonk.gif So you're doubly signed up for EP. Maybe you'll zoom right through this process :P

LOL maybe...I'm already getting SIF after submitting my DS-261 this morning AND they've already updated Trav's birthdate...just got an email confirmation!

Only thing is - Now I have another question. For some reason, when I get emails from them they list the primary beneficiary (me) with my FORMER last name (which does not show on any of my ID). I've changed my name to my husband's last name, and every time I call they have no issues with me calling myself by my married name. Think this is going to be a problem?

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).

I think everyone looks terrible on these pictures. You should see mine...

my thoughts to you is: call back the NVC and talk to a supervisor.

Thank you for answers.

I unfortunatelly can not resign my lawyer because he was hired by the company where my husband works for my visa to get out quickly, but it seems to depend on it will take longer.

I'll follow their advice and ask my husband to call the NVC and ask to speak with the supervisor because I can not speak English.

But it has happened to anyone here?
