And another optin acceptance!

And yay for the SIF! Hopefully your AOS will appear as soon as you can log in!

i see everybody's moving, that is really good... Just check my wife's email NVC has not written yet. i will see for this afternoon

What exactly are you expecting from NVC? blink.gif

Hello Everyone!

Help-me, please!

I've read all posts this month and not seen anything like.

My NOA2 was approved on 02/22/2012, which supposedly were sent to the NVC, following the guide line here, I have been calling daily in order to obtain the case number with a continuing response from NVC that they have not yet received the case. Today the NVC attendant informed me that the delay abnormally long and request me to send an e-mail in order to verify what happened.

I'm doing this process by a lawyer and passed this information to him and he said that "a month or two is not an unreasonable time to wait for the NVC response".

My question are: This already happened to anybody here? What can have happened? What do you think I should do?

Your lawyer sounds like one of the operators! headbonk.gif

It's definitely not normal that you don't have a case number yet. You should have gotten one assigned by now. Call an operator up and ask to speak with a supervisor. I know there's a way of scanning your NOA2 and emailing it to a NVC email address. Can't remember the specific address though, something along the lines of NVCResearch@state.gov, but I'm not sure if that's it or not.

And I'd go with previous suggestions of dumping your lawyer. If they think it's normal to wait a month or two for a case number, they're wrong. Which is a good indication they don't know the rest of this process and will only slow you down :(

No. Opt-in is for countries eligible to do electronic processing. The DS-3032 is your choice of agent. For EP countries we email the DS-261.

You don't email the DS-261, you submit it online.

Please keep in mind, EP and online forms are TWO DIFFERENT processes. Just because Canada is eligible for both, does not mean it's the same process. Some countries are eligible for one, but not the other.

I repeat:

Electronic processing: emailing in packages (AOS and IV)

Online forms: submitting forms online (DS-261 and DS-260)

I-864 packet sent via overnight USPS, due to arrive in NH tomorrow at noon. Step by step..... day by day....

Grats on the progress! How's the IV package coming along?

 I am not getting the SIF either!!! The AOS portion of my page just disappeared suddenly! who knows i just want to show them the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure it will be invoiced soon!

LOL maybe...I'm already getting SIF after submitting my DS-261 this morning AND they've already updated Trav's birthdate...just got an email confirmation!

Only thing is - Now I have another question. For some reason, when I get emails from them they list the primary beneficiary (me) with my FORMER last name (which does not show on any of my ID). I've changed my name to my husband's last name, and every time I call they have no issues with me calling myself by my married name. Think this is going to be a problem?

Wow, they're moving fast for you (correcting the birth date).

Hmm, weird they have your former name. Did you use it on ANY of the forms so far (USCIS or NVC)?

Thank you for answers.

I unfortunatelly can not resign my lawyer because he was hired by the company where my husband works for my visa to get out quickly, but it seems to depend on it will take longer.

I'll follow their advice and ask my husband to call the NVC and ask to speak with the supervisor because I can not speak English.

But it has happened to anyone here?

Yup, anything you can think of has happened before. I can't recall a specific member, but I have seen it. Just do as I suggested. You're going to have to scan and email your NOA2 and then they'll issue you a case number. Just call up NVC and ask a supervisor for the specific instructions.

Nope, definitely not the same thing

Wow, grats on the speedy acceptance! Wish NVC was that fast when I was there. I would have gotten through NVC so much faster...

I know..But NVC already delayed us by giving the case number after 20 day! So now we are equal!!LOL.

I never got a SIF throughout the whole NVC process, and I was definitely checking frequently enough to get one, so you could still get an invoice soon. :)

They really are...it's ODD! I think I mentioned it in USCIS only once under the previous names question - but we APPLIED with me using my married name as my primary name. When they ask my name I say "Richelle Lowman" and they don't bat an eye. The former name was the name mentioned on the marriage certificate (however NVC misspelled it too!)... :bonk:

And you need the bar-coded cover sheet as well. Needs to be the first page in the package.

Does this mean that you have to send ORIGINAL birth certificate and copy? I am nervous about giving original of any vital document. If I don't get it back from them, it will take an arm and a leg to get another from my country.

Please refer to post 2. There is a question that answers this EXACT question.

Does this mean that you have to send ORIGINAL birth certificate and copy? I am nervous about giving original of any vital document. If I don't get it back from them, it will take an arm and a leg to get another from my country.

Yes, you have to send the original or certified copy of both the birth certificate and marriage certificate. You also have to include a color photocopy, so they can return the original/certified copy back to you at the time of the interview.

When do you think i can start calling? They received AOS Wednesday, March 21st at 11h10AM.

If it was received yesterday, then start calling today, and every day afterwards until you hear an operator tell you the case is complete.
