Hello Everyone! It's my first time posting here and this site gave me a lot of encouragement when I was still waiting for some smoke signal of sign of progress from this journey of our K-! Visa. My fiance is from the Dominican Republic and I'm from Boston, Massachusetts. After 3 years of a long distance relationship, we realized it's time to settle down together! Filing for the K-1 Visa has been a trip of anxiety, frustration, and joy, waiting is NO FUN but thanks be to God that My prince is finally here!

June 5 2009- Met in Punta Cana, Dominican Rep

Skype, email and phone dating in between

December 16 2010- Second Visit to the DR

May 21 2011- He proposed!

June 6 2011- I 129-F received at Vermont Processing Center

September 20 2011- RFE 1 Received

September 23 2011- Resubmitted my signature to confirm that I have never committed a felony, I left that blank on the I 129 F by accident! LOL

November 2 2011- I 129F APPROVED!!!!! :)

December 5 2011- consulate package and appointment Received by my Fiance

Jan 19 2012- Interview for K-1 Visa at U.S Embassy in Santo Domingo

Jan 19 2012- VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!

Jan 27 2012- Visa and Port of Entry Document received by my fiance!

He'll be here this Saturday, Feb 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I am from Boston too. Congrats on your approval and best of luck for what is ahead. By the way feb 5th is a sunday, I would know it's my bday! Suerte!

04/24/14 - Sent I-751 to remove conditions

06/09/14 - Biometrics

11/2014 - RFE from USCIS requesting more evidence before approval

Late Jan - Sent further evidence of marriage

03/05/2015 - Got letter of approval for removal of conditions

03/15/2015 - Permanent 10 yr green card received via mail

Congratulations !... another happy ending (F)

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
