I knew a girl in College who's name was Secret. Don't remember her last name now. I was drunk the first time I met her, and when I asked her what her name was, she said "It's Secret" But, of course my drunk ####### thought she said It's a Secret... so that went on for a few hours until I made her pull out her License... sure enough, her name was Secret

I'm trying to think here:

There were 2 girls I have worked with, one in Kansas, one here in Tucson.

Fawni - her mother and my mother were good friends! :o

Side note, my best friend in high school had a crush on Fawni, his name was Michael Paul.

And Fawn

I named my daughter Fawn - 23 years ago. At first people found it funny but then my daughter just seemed to fit that name so perfectly and everyone started to like it. Her friends during her teen years thought it was really cool too...lol.

This is my Fawn. (L)

Most of the good ones I know are (1) in Spanish and (2) names of people I've interpreted for. And, y'know, confidentiality.

I'll just say that I've heard much better funny names in Spanish than in English, because so many common first *and* last names are real words.

As an example, a man whose name, loosely translated, means "Angel of Light in a World of Darkness."

That said, I had a friend who introduced two of her friends to each other, and they later got engaged. Luckily, when [Mary] Licht marries [John] Butz, she's not planning to hyphenate her name.

Y'know how Dominicans and Cubans like to make up names? My former boss had a story about asking a Dominican man to name his siblings, starting with the oldest, during an interview, and he started with "Somucho..." so she wrote down "Somucho Martínez" or whatever, and then he said, "no, no, *so* *mucho*" (as in "son muchos").

I once heard of a man whose last name was (I kid you not) "Izquierdo Doblado" which is Spanish for "Twisted Bent."

Oh, and I worked in the Dean's Office in college, so I know for certain that we had a student named Scotty Scott. And two John Johnsons.
