My wife never uses ice, even if the drink is lukewarm

She loves MSG also

She hates noises made while eating (this has become annoying. even if it is the smallest noise, she cringes and reprimands me)

She prefers dinner around 10pm at night (as I am getting ready for bed to get up at 6:00am the next day)

She sautés rice with garlic before adding the water. It is delicious BTW

She loves to tweeze her eyebrows, once she gets them just the way she likes them, she comes after mine.helpsmilie.gif

She goes topless around the house all the time. I swear she hates a shirt. So distractingdevil.gif

She drinks from a straw, even from our glasses that we know are clean.

She has no short term memory what so ever. If we have a dinner engagement with some friends, we have discussed it several times. The night before, I remind her that when I get home we will go ahead and leave to get there on time. So please get ready before I get home. Then, when I get home, she is watching TV topless and doesn't remember anything we have discussed.

She has NO concept of time. (this is definitely a Brazilian thing)

MSG would kill me.

Hubby can't stand the sound of me chewing peanuts. I guess other food is no problem.

He's really neat...don't put an empty wrapper anywhere but in the garbage, never lay a hairbrush or comb down on the table. At least he takes out the garbage without me asking...oops :ot:

My husband (the USC) eats rice off a plate with a fork. His whole family does it. Having grown up using chopsticks or a spoon and fork combination, this is not a skill I possess. The first time I visited him here, I handed him a spoon and a fork as we were sitting down to dinner and he gave me a puzzled look and asked what the spoon was for.

I gave up eating out with my husband so we go out to eat every now and then only. The reason is that he annoys me when we go out to eat. He would check every food that is serve on him. He would constantly try to peek at the kitchen area to see if the kitchen people are washing their hands when they make our food. He also constantly use hand sanitizer everywhere we go. Really those things annoys me. He is a total clean freak. A few years ago we argue about how i clean the house and how much of a clutter i am. Since then his the one who cleans the house from top to bottom every weekend. I still clean during the week as i am a sahm but idont sweat itanymore for iknow he will clean again on the weekend.

I can't find spray-on deoderant in the US and my husband thinks it is weird that I don't like the roll-on ones.

I don't use the dryer hardly at all and my husband also finds that weird. No one I knew back home ever used the dryer unless they had to.

Did you try the solid powder type? They are ok. My daughter lived in Australia for a few years and she always hung her clothes out. I rarely use my dryer and I have the lowest energy bill on the block. And I hate that fluffy American bread, too, so I bake my own. And I'm the USC. Sorry that was about me.... :ot:

I will post some things I do different then my husband. I don't like ice in my drinks, I don't like fans and air conditioning( he is burning for real with me lol) I change my street clothes too, I don't use the dish washer, I rarely use my street shoes in the house, I never use a bath cloth( yuk), I allays lock the door, even if I go to take the trash out or check the post, I immediately shower after a haircut, I also wash my teeth before eating, I don't give big tipps, and me too I like using spray on not stick( degree at walmart, I don't use ranch or other souses in my salads and I eat them with the meat not before. I never eat frozen food from the supermarket and I buy the most expensive bread that resembles the European one. No sticky bread for me.

When cooking on the stove with a couple of burners on, my fiancee is constantly concerned about what to do when the gas runs out. I have explained to her that it is piped into the house and will never run but I don't think she gets it. However, she keeps on cooking which fine with me!

Although I haven't moved down to Ohio yet, I can see some differences between the fiance and I.

He never takes his shoes off, it drives me nuts.

He drives to the grocery store even though it is literally a 4 to 5 minute walk - he's not lazy, but that sure is!

Everybody around there says, "you're fine," if you say sorry for something - Like if you accidentally bump into somebody. Although it's not much different, I'm used to saying, "it's alright" or "it's ok."

When you say thank you, they say "mhm," not "you're welcome."

I don't like the taste of the tap water in Ohio, whether it's city tap water, or well water, I just don't like the taste of it. (Everybody calls me crazy, but the mineral content must be different because it tastes completely different!)

I won't use the dishwasher down there because I've never had one before and I don't get the point of having to pre-rinse your dishes before the dishwasher washes them lol

That's all I can think of. OH! I put mayo on fries too! Must be a Canadian thing lol. I know it's not too different, but it's still weird when I go down there.

Once we went through a bank drive though and I was shocked that you could send your money up through a tube and that you didn't actually have to go INTO the bank, or up to a machine lol. I thought that was so bizarre.

I also thought it was weird that you could shop using cheques. I also think it is weird that you can get alcohol anywhere. In Ontario we have dedicated stores! I even think little things like traffic signs are odd when they're different from ours!

I'm the USC in Indiana and we say "it's alright" or "it's ok" and I'm pretty sure I've heard "you're welcome". So is this an "Ohio thing"..???

1. If she forgets something in the house and goes back in to retrieve it, she must first look in the mirror

2. Of course, shoes off upon entering the house

3. I must change outside clothes to home clothes when I come home from work.

4. Ziplock bags are a no-no

5. She will not use the dishwasher - NEVER!

6. She will not sit on the toilet, she squats

7. She eats 7-8 apples a day

Zip lock bags? Wonder why?
