We went to see Dr. Robert Comunale in McLean, Virginia. His address is 1608 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101 and his phone number is 703-893-6670. For our visit it cost a total of $270 for both my wife and stepson (adjusting for K-1 and K-2 visas, respectively): $175 for my wife and $95 for my stepson. He DID perform an additional medical examination, but did not insist on any additional immunizations or tests. He was very friendly, especially to my stepson whom he allowed to use the stethoscope to hear his mommy's heartbeat. :) Dr. Comunale is semi-retired and works out of his home. Prior to going to him, I did research to find out what people had to say about him. General impression: cranky country doctor. I can vouch for country; cranky I am not so sure of.

If you look for consumer reviews for most of the civil surgeons in Northern Virginia, they are abyssmal. Most of them get terrible reviews from regular patients as well as those going for immigration related services. Even if they were cheaper (which they weren't), I did not want to subject my family to such unsavory characters.

Take care and God bless!

Joe

As far as I know you MUST see the CS in person. His signature on the form must be original and also the envelope must be sealed by him. It can't be done by just fax, email alone. In my case we faxed my vaccine docs in advance just so we knew ahead of time what shots I needed but we went there for the actual signing off of the forms etc

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

You must see a civil surgeon in person. You cannot do it by mail, fax or email.

The REASON Dr. Arnold is not longer practising is BECAUSE it was done via post/fax which is fraud. It says quite clearly in the instructions that the CS must see you in person. A lot of people who went to Dr Arnold but hadn't had their AOS approved yet were made to see another CS because of this. Even if they HAD seen them in person USCIS had no proof and Dr. Arnold was well known to do it via post so they just assumed. Big mess.

You MUST go in person. No shortcuts. Do it right.

V., just curious: where's your backup for this? Reply by PM if necessary or appropriate. Thanks, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

For the OP: Just to clarify - Dr. Comunale does not do anything by e-mail, mail, or fax. You must see him in person. In that sense he is not like Dr. Arnold. He is, however, friendly, attentive, and at least in our estimation fair.

Take care!

Joe & Ann

She is technically right, but there are many who have done it via fax/email and not had any problems.

There is no "technically" right. I AM right. You are also right, some people haven't had problems... but that doesn't make it any less fraudulent.

However I believe TBone was actually referring to the Dr. Arnold specific info which is what I PM'd him about.
