Passport Photos: Bring or not to bring to theinterview?

Hi there:

I have an interview coming up in bout 2 weeks. According to the interview letter, it is recommended (not required) that you bring two'additional passport photos with you to the interview. I am wondering now whether I need to bring them with me; I already submitted two passport photos with my application.

I think they just allow you to replace them if you wish... not sure though....

It wouldn't hurt to bring extra 2 photos, just in case they lost what you already sent in with the application. I did.

Once you have received your Certificate of Naturalization, you'll send it in to get your first U.S. passport. Once you get your CoN back, you'll put it in the bank safe and will hopefully never have to take it out again. Thus, if you don't like the photos you submitted with your original N-400 application, you may or may not have a chance to switch them. Unless you looked like the furry thing in your post, I wouldn't bother.

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND HAVING ONE AT THE INTERVIEW.I PAID $9.95 FOR A PASSPORT PHOTO SO THAT I CAN BRING IT WITH ME TO THE INTERVIEW.This way you have zero probability of missging that up

Did they take your photo at your biometrics? Did of my stepdaughter, said you have an option of using your own photos or theirs. She was never given that option, we sent in the two photos and she had two more with her. We never saw her photo until we got her certificate. Not a very pleasing photo of her. But as Justbob says, sent that off to get her passport and buried her certificate. Her passport has our photos.

If you follow Murphy's Law, if you don't bring them, they will ask for them.

Depends on consulate, but, as many probably have learned here: you can never have enough passport photos when it comes to immigration.

She was talking about citizenship interview at local office in the USA, not consulate.

But it is not a bad idea at all to have a couple spare pass photos in your valet, just in case

I brought some with me during my interview. It's better to always prepare for unseen circumstances and expect the unexpected. After all, you're dealing with USCIS.

Bangkok says to bring 2 photos. I'd bring them along rather than risk a delay for something so small.

I say no- by the time of your citizenship interview, you'll already have done biometrics which includes a digital photo.

There's only one reason to do this: if the photos you submitted with your N-400 application are either awkward or you have changed your look since then so significantly that you rather would update your photo on the CoN as well. Since the CoN goes in the bank safe once you have your passport, I'd say forgettaboutit and use 'em for your passport application.
